OT: Happy Sparty Bob Tuesday
There's an extra second today to keep astronomical time in confluence with atomic time.

Ugh. Can we call it Henne to Manningham day instead?
Ugh x 2. Not the best way to intro this topic, as I had done a good job of forgetting this, as much as possible.
The Penn State game? I thought we got 2 seconds.

Maybe it's a half Henne to Manningham Day?
How about Wangler to Carter, Elvis to Desmond or Harbaugh to Kolesar?
Wangler to Carter is my favorite. I got to rush the field as a student. Back when rushing the field was cool...

Lame bro. I rushed the BEFORE it was cool.
Man, that game. I went into my room and sat on my bed and just held my head in my hands for a while after that. What...the...fuck?!
Threet to Stonum???
Sheridan to Mathews???
Feagin to Savoy???
Dreisbach to Hayes. Denard to Roundtree?
As in Scott Dreisbach to Mercury Hayes to win the Pigskin Classic against Virginia? I remember I was at Benjamin Moore Paints (the one near William & Main St.) with my mom and a couple siblings listening to the end of the game on the radio while making some sort of paint run. I couldn't wait to get home to see the replay.
That must really have been a paint emergency.
Whoa! I was just going to comment on how I was at a lawn mower repair shop on Northwestern and 14 Mile with my dad while listening to that game. To this day, I still get goose bumps when I drive by.
That was my first game at the Big House. That game was so amazing, I can still picture seeing the ball disappear behind a crowd of people, and I knew that Michigan had lost--that the fade had been thrown too far--and then the place went more nuts than any place I could have imagined, and I knew I was wrong. I wasn't a Michigan fan yet going into the game, just tagging along with my best friend and his dad, but that put me well on the road to becoming one.
This reminds me of Saban demanding an extra second to be put on the clock, allowing Chris Davis to you know what.
I'm just glad it's not added during work hours

Whoo Hoo!!
I'm sleeping in, bitches!
I just wasted the next 70 years worth of leap seconds.
That was not the best way to spend/waste your 1 second. Watching this gif would be a better use of that time....
Well, you were certainly not wrong.
Wow, you're right. I only needed one second.
Five seconds. Easy.
I drive by TJ Duckett's high school every morning on the way to work.
Howdy neighbor! I'm always happy to see a fellow Kalamazooian on the blog. Anyway, I'm always amazed at all the talent that comes out of Loy Norrix and K Central, but their teams manage to be so terrible.
I think K Central doesn't take football seriously. They are a basketball school, and everybody knows it. Loy Norrix just got a new coach that is putting a much higher emphasis on weight training than ever before. Maybe it will help.
Do you guys know/find it odd that Loy Norrix technically is in Portage? My friend explained to me they grandfathered Loy Norrix into the Kzoo city limits once Portage became its own city.
Kelly Baraka. Ahhh, what could have been.
Anything south of Kilgore is Portage, right? The lines between both cities is always blurred to me.
It all comes down to discipline. Central and Norrix could compete -talent wise- with your Rockfords, Muskegons, and EGRs of the state. They just need to get a coaching staff to instill a solid foundation of fundamentals (blocking and tackling, mainly).
South of Kilgore is Portage. Has Loy Norrix had a good football team since Duckett?
hasn't won more than 4 games since 1998 http://michigan-football.com/f/lnorrix.htm
KCentral has won a few more games but haven't been much better http://michigan-football.com/f/kcentral.htm
I agree. Kalamazoo has probably just as much of a talent base as any area on the Westside. Couple that with the fact that there are only 2 high schools in the city and there is not a large catholic school pulling away some of the best players (Hackett is a great school, but no where near big enough to grab the best players)

Very good points. I've never really thought much of Hackett or Christian as very good football schools, either. Outside of the smaller divisions (Mendon, Constantine, Schoolcraft), SW Michigan has no presence in high school football deep in the playoffs.
Is there bars and razor wire around the facility?
I used to live a mile away from Loy Norrix before I moved to South Portage. Duckett is really the only reason, other than the hideous faded blue color of the school, that I despise Norrix. We had a lot of fun beating their asses in Tennis when I was in high school. PC tennis!!
Fuck Sparty
You're not wrong...
Fuck Sparty and that smug "pride before the fall" fuck Dantonio.
I hope the Ducks hang 100 on Sparty.
I hope there's a Harbaugh/Schwartz moment at midefiled later in the season!
Fuck Sparty.
Seriously, the irony in that statement is so thick. What an arrogant tool.
Then again, if I had as much prolapsing rectal tissue as Dantonio does, I'd be in a foul mood as well.
MSU eventually payed for with 6 straight losses to us. Always nice when karma comes through
Sorry, can't help myself- small pet peeve.
Speaking of Sparty - is anyone else looking forward to State of Michigan vs. State of Oregon week?
I hope Oregon beats them by 100. Michigan St is irrelevant and I think now that they can't feed off of our misfortune , it will be realized rather quickly.
Go ducks. Fuck Sparty.
I am very looking forward to this game. Babysitter is already lined up.
I prefer a good game, but they lose in heart breaking fashion, like last year
The worse they look and get beaten the better it is for us.
How though? It makes the big ten look bad if they lose by 100. When a preseason top 10 team loses like that, then we have to listen to the whole "B1G Sucks! LOLSECWINS" from the talking heads. And as much as I hate MSU, and OSU, I want michigan to beat them and have them be strong as possible the rest of the time so we can shake that stigma.
With out going round and round about this.... Do you think it was good when Msu and osu did so well last season? In my opinion it is NEVER GOOD when our rivals do well the whole root for the Big 10 is one of the dumbest ideas ever in my opinion.
I think it's better for Michigan that MSU or OSU lose for our recruiting. Michigan will make the playoffs regardless if they are up there in the rankings however we have been completely shut off from Ohio with the Urban Meyer national championship.
I agree. It is never going to help recruiting when those two schools play well.
