OT: Happy 4/20 day
Happy 4/20 to all MGoBloggers. I was surprised this weekend to hear Bill Maher attribute the 4/20 holiday to some high school kids in San Rafael back in the early 70's. I was under the mistaken belief that it was a result of the police code for possession. Apparently, there are many myths related to the 4/20 holiday. See this article for several:

While I've never 4/20'd, I've suppose having gone to school at UofM for 8+ years I've had my fair share of second-hand 4/20.
What's your favorite 4/20 related story?
One thing i can add now that it's no longer going to cost anyone their job even if people figure out who I'm talking about (passed away/cancer)
I've smoked pot with a jduge, lawyers, medical doctors, professors, and even LEO.. in a state where it's not even medical.
4/20 will always have some meaning, but it's getting to the point of almost stupid because it just opens the door for people to make a mockery of it --- though I see less and less people willing to make a mockery of it every year.
I had a hotel last time i was up in A2. My taxi driver brought some really good stuff (girlscout cookie) only marked up like 10% above dispensary rates.
I bought a pizza that same night, the driver got to our room at 4:20am and joined in for a second, then left his number and said he'd be happy to hook us up whenever we're in town.
I was impressed with the business sense of all the service workers in the area :)

There's nothing better than toking with your girl, laughing your ass off together and getting real snuggly. Sex while hig his great. Any girl that enjoys a smoke is usually very cool too. These days as herb has gotten legalized, decriminalized and more mainstream the social stigma has worn off, and I've found (at least in NYC) that so many more nice, normal, pretty girls like to smoke. Back in my college days in the 90's the only girsl that smoked were crunchy granola hippy types. It's a great thing. In addition to the less severe social stigma, I suspect a lot of chicks love the fact that weed, unlike alchohol, has no calories.
McDonald's is experimenting with an all-day breakfast food menu. Today was the premiere. Brilliant marketing ploy is brilliant.

Hey I'm from Clinton.
Oooo, no to that as well He is also dead.
the arrest and imprisonment of users fiscally wasteful and illiberal socially.
I grew up in East Lansing and went to UofM for my 3 degrees. As I recall, Hash Bash is an annual event in Ann Arbor, not East Lansing. I even debated whether or not I should label this OT. I work at a company and in an industry that frowns on this sort of thing, so I can only vicariously experience 4/20. That's why I started the thread. My first exposure to weed was at a Michigan football game. I recall my dad sniffing the air and making some comment about that funky weed. My sister's roommate freshman year grew the stuff in their room.
Quit vaping and go to bed.
I started experimenting with it in HS. It was actually easier to get than alcohol but I lived in a college town. My buddy and I scored our 1st baggie and went to the river to enjoy it. We had both tried it before but this was the 1st time we were gonna smoke a lot.
We played with Roman Candles and had a generally great time until we got REALLY hungry. My mother was still at work so we made a commando run to my house, raided the fridge, and went up to my room to listen to Pink Floyd.
The next morning my mother comments we must have been really hungry since we pretty much emptied the fridge. Then she asks if I want to go driving (I had just gotten my permit). I was still feeling high from the night before so technically the first time I drove I was intoxicated. I know, bad idea but I didn't have much choice.
By 20 I gave up on it and moved on with life. I don't see it as good or bad. Many of the people I toked with also moved on but a few haven't and haven't grown up yet either. Big boy responsibilities and the law keep me from celebrating this holiday.
Blazed with Chad Henne once. He was an uninteresting doofus before we toked. He was an uninteresting doofus after we smoked. However, we were less hesitant to laugh at him being an uninteresting doofus post-blaze.
Legalize it. Who doesn't love some grass?!
Seriously all jokes aside, legalize it.
I live a few blocks from Haight/Ashbury, and I went to use an ATM on Haight Street one afternoon a few years back, and there were dozens of people out on the streets smoking in public. Duders blazing in public is a common enough sight around here, but there were so many people out smoking from all walks of life, and were making such a show of it, I had to ask a guy what was going on. He was like, "four twenty dude," and I had no idea what he was talking about. How did I attend Hash Bash every year from 1997 to 2000 (and maybe even some random year from 2002 to 2004) and not know that?
what do you mean im too late for hashbash *cough cough"
