Denying it was futile.

Her: Scott, wake up, you effin peed in the closet!

Me: [confused look]

Her: You PEED on my SHOES!

Me: Nuh-uhhh.

Her: Well do you think I did it?!

Well, turns out she didn't. ...

The cost side? Depends on how many shoes there are. Because you will be replacing them, even if its a pair of bullshit T.J. Maxx flats she bought 17 years ago and never wears.

You will be replacing those with Manolo Blahniks.

Eat a meal that includes fruit before you go out. Pineapple works pretty well. Buy some B12 vitamins and take one before you go out. Drink. Go home, take another B12 vitamin and drink a lot of powerade/gatorade/water before you pass out. Pass out. Wake up and feel much better than you would have if you had not followed these steps. Yes, it's a semi-complicated process but if you want to be productive the next day it's necessary.

I don't drink anywhere near like I did in college, but I know of more then a few people who have attempted the "drink a shitload before bed" approach. More times then I feel comfortable with, people ended up wetting the bed due to their blacked out state and inability to get up and empty the tanks. This is very much a fear of mine.

I talked to a Navy Corpsman once who said that when they were in training, they would go out and get drunk all the time, then wake up and put in an I-V and take some B-12. Apparently the hangover just disappears, though I'd imagine you don't have regular access to an I-V.

Back in my U of M days (~10 yrs ago) it was a greasy meal (usually Big Market Gyro, meaty hippie hash from Fleetwood, or pastor taco salad from Sabor Latino), bowl, and movies on the couch all afternoon. We'd still be hurting all day, but this regimen made the pain more tolerable.

Active prevention before you start drinking is as if not more valuable than what you do when you are done drinking. At least from my experience that seems to be the case. Have a full stomach when you go out.

OK, finally get to use some of the skills I learned in school.
Night before, put a multivitamin and a couple ibuprofen in your pocket (for people like me who never actually make it back home!) down these with tons of water before you go to sleep. Sleep for as long as you can possibly handle, and then a little bit more.

After you get up take another round of vitamin and ibuprofen with (again ) tons of water. Immediately proceed to a greasy breakfast joint, I prefer a local greasy-spoon, but a chain like Waffle House will suffice. It is important to consume enough greasy food to a) have a "purging"* effect of the impurities from the night before within 30 min after you leave and b)so that after the meal you can no longer stay awake and are forced to take a 2-3 hr nap.

You will awake feeling pretty well despite the night before and will now to ready to take a shower and do it all over again! This method is quite simple and carried me through college.

* note: purging needs to be of the squatting variety, not the kneeling, if this occurs process must be repeated.
