OT: Hagelin in fastest skater competition tonight
Thanks to his very solid first season in the NHL, Carl Hagelin was selected as part of a handful of rookies to take part in the Skills competition at the All-Star Game tonight in Ottawa.
In this otherwise boring video: http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/console?catid=35&id=152895 , you can see Alfredsson and Lundqvist picking which players take part in which event, and Hagelin is the first name on the board for the fastest skater, which I thought was very indicative of the respect his veteran peers and countrymen have for his speed (I think they have to pick a rookie for each event but still, high praise).
Watch tonight, starting at 7 ET, to see if Carl wins and/or beats the record.

I always noticed just how much faster than everyone else he was while here, glad to see it's translated to the next level. Not OT, BTW.

BORK!
Since Darren Helm is my favorite player, you can guess that Hagelin is a player the type of player I get really excited about. Although Carl might have more of a scoring punch than Helm.

I love hearing about good things for Carl, him and Caporusso are probably my two favorite M hockey players ever. Here's to continued success. BORK!

Haglin is going to be tough to beat, based on his first two heats.
