Tigers lead 2-0 early. Miggy hits 2 run shot to make amends for last night.
Fister looks horrible and I don't think he will make it through the third
Leyland will blow this one somehow.
I'm not quite as pessimistic, but either way this weekend is do or die for the old English D.
lol have some faith man. Tigers aren't gonna lose 3 games in a row started by Fister, Scherzer, and Verlander.
Tigers will still make the playoffs. Plenty of time.
Tigers made an interesting move today.
Jeff Baker was designated for assignment and the Tigers called up a hulking 21 year old OF from AA Erie
MLB Parent Club: Detroit
Full Name: Avisail Antonio Garcia
Birthplace: Anzoategui, Venezuela
Height: 6' 4"
a box and mark it guaranteed, then you would have a guaranteed piece of shit..Just saying..
Omar Infante. Knows how many outs there are in an inning, right after he blew a double play ball.
Cabrera probably should be DHing. With 2 bum ankles he needs to hit about .500 to justify playing Third
EDIT: Cabrera hitting .750 tonight, so I guess playing Third is justified
Hit a guy with the bases loaded. Lovely.
I wonder if Fister's nuts hurt again.
The poster must be psychic
OP, you wanna go ahead and give me tomorrows lottery numbers?
some fans some of you are
Happy opening weekend.
I kind of forgot about him, but Smyly could be valuable as a lefty out of the pen down the stretch.
How many free base runners have we given the Sox tonight? 6 walks, 2 HBP, and some poor defense have made this closer than it should be.
is going for the reverse jinx.
DY Baby! Bases clearing 3 run double
3 run 2b delmon.. 7-4
Atta way DY. Ventura is an idiot, Peavy shouldn't have been in after the lead off walk, or even to start the 7th and Thornton has been much less reliable than Myers and Crain.
Dude is like 103/109 in save opportunities since joining the Tigers. He makes it pretty interesting sometimes, but he almost always gets it done.
8th inning.. Let's go baby..
Avasail Garcia looks like Miggy's little brother sitting next to him on the bench
If he can continue to learn to be patient at the plate then he will certainly have a spot on this team come next spring. He posted some good numbers at Erie while Castellanos has hit the wall a bit (though obviously the superior prospect.)
23 SB's in 122 games this season for Avasail Garcia. Very impressive for a kid his size
Hey, I've manballs enough to face my critics in the face of adversity. It hurts, but I was wrong.
In other news: I guarantee a Michigan State victory over Boise State tonight
Crazy game, good win. Now take 2 more Tigers and go from there.
SO much for the guarantee..
Too late to put money on the sox's sweeping???
Lol, was this supposed to be a reverse jinx or something?
Good call bro
Juuuuust a bit outside...
I do not think you know what it means.
I've been away from MGoBlog for a few hours and I laughed out loud reading the title to this thread. I'm so glad this blew up in this dude's face.
No one can predict Delm-sanity!
If I might ask a question: I'm a Cubs fan. I do not enjoy the White Sox much. On paper, the Tigers should be about 10 games up over the White Sox (or, say Indians, games not played on paper, etc.). What would you Tigers fans most attribute to the problems the Tigers have had this season? Seemed like a real solid club heading into the season.
is the manager. 'Nuff said.
Leyland can't hit the ball, catch the ball or throw pitches for the players.
Unclutch hitting (RISP) and inconsistent hitting from the bottom half of the line-up. Defensive and speed not that good.
have the second best average with RISP in the entire league behind the White Sox. Obviously, it was an issue the last two games against KC, but by in large the numbers don't indicate that as being a significant issue. Inconsistent hitting from the role type guys has been a major issue though. Also, I am not sure why nobody mentions it, but the pitching wasn't very good in the earlier part of the year either. At one point the entire rotation besides Verlander had ERA's over 4.40.
On paper before the season maybe, but the White Sox have scored more runs than the Tigers and allowed fewer, so on paper now, the Sox should actually be another couple of games up than they are.
According to Joe Sheehan, the Tigers have one of 50 worst park-adjusted defensive efficiencies in the 60 years they have data for the stat. That's undoubtedly part of it, and is probably the primary reason why the White Sox have allowed fewer runs than the Tigers. (This year's Brewers are actually even worse in that stat, BTW).
And for all the hype about the Tigers lineup, half of the lineup has been below-average players this year -- Avila came back to earth, Delmon Young is Delmon Young, Boesch has been awful, second base was awful and still meh with Infante, Peralta's been marginal as well. Cabrera and Fielder are doing their thing and Austin Jackson has been great, but they've got one other guy who starts more than once or twice a week with an OPS over 750.
She's handcuffed to my bed right now, and will be for the foreseeable future.
Note: She brought the handcuffs...
The word "guarantee" has been cheapened and left empty enough as it is in the world of sports by players, broadcasters, owners, and yes, fans.
Please don't contribute more to this pollution.
How to lose many MGoPoints with one stupid prediction.
Why don't you guarantee a Bama victory. I'll feel a lot better about it.
