OT: Greg Oden Arrested

@thebiglead: Greg Oden Arrested For Suspected Battery, Mugshot Has Ohio State Shirt http://t.co/x6rvivZHHa If this weren't for punching a woman, I was going to mention something along the lines of how an 87 year old wouldn't last in prison, but in the light of Ray Rice, this is certainly a problem. Edit: Can someone not on their phone post the mugshot? It's the most Ohio thing ever.

Them celebrating a player getting ejected and throwing a hissy fit on the sidelines says it all. This is just icing on the cake.

A rival fanbase can't laugh at this? A former star player from a rival University, arrested while wearing a ridiculous shirt repping his team featuring a player who was ejected and throwing a fit as he left the playing field?

You're REALLY going to be sarcastic about a rival fanbase getting a chuckle out of that?

Florida has an ex-player on trial for MURDER. Does that mean, their fans can't get some rivalry ribbing in when the star player and Heisman Trophy winner on their rival's team gets in trouble for stealing crab legs?

Of course they can. That's a very small part of a rivalry.

Just like if this thread was "OT: Greg Oden passes away"...you'd get a SHIT TON of MICHIGAN fans expressing their condolences and heartfelt feelings for Oden, his family, and even his former University that happens to be Michigan's biggest rival. That too, is also a small part of a rivalry.

Taylor and C'sonte's legal problems resulted from fighting other guys. While certainly not excusable, I have a far easier time defending them than a guy who punched a woman. Not to mention any other of the cornucopia of other Ohio State arrests that blot the police report in the morning's.

If Oden did what the story makes it seem like he did - i.e., punch a woman in the face, that's awful and I hope he suffers mightily for it.

But I feel compelled to remind Oden and oh-so-many OSU faithful that "Ohio" is spelled O-H-I-O not O-Y-I-O.  (And not O-I-H-O, for that matter.  Why is it that our rivals have such trouble spelling things, including the Fig Things?)

Roger Godell is outraged at this vicious attack on women and believes the NBA should throw the book at Oden.  No mercy.  Let their IRON FIST be felt in all it's rage and retributional glory.

Three game suspension.

AND NOT A GAME LESS!

This is the University that honored a man on probation for their football team's biggest scandal in history...during a game in which the current team could not complete their season with a B1G Championship or a bowl game because of this man/team.

Of course they're going to defend Oden.

Although, after actually watching the Hyde thing...it was 100% wrong, but it wasn't Ray Rice. You should never put your hands on a woman, but the Hyde thing wasn't a fight or a knockout or anything like that. She swung at him a few times, he slapped back at her...whether his intent was to block her swings or hit her is certainly up for debate. But he basically ended up hitting slapping away her flying arms and immediately walked off the stage.

Let's all be thankful he hit her with his fist and not his penis. She wouldn't have survived that.

He always came across as an intelligent & insightful kid (especially considering how young he is).  Think I remember reading that he had/has/always will have a pretty serious drinking problem, which is most likely the at the root of this mess.
