if anyone is feeling charitable: [email protected]
Lets you sign up from there.
edit: not working anymore, only allows you to build your profile :(
I've been on it for a week now. It's a very clean version of facebook (no games or quizzes or little ads on the side). Your friends can be added into different groups (circles) and you can choose what to share with which circle.
They have a video chat system called Hangout which is nice but I'd like to try it out with more people to see how it holds up.
If you have an Android phone you can download the Plus mobile app which allows you to setup Huddles, which is like group messaging/chatting. I havent played with that yet, though a friend tells me its a good feature when you have a bunch of friends and want to communicate at the same time.
I had invites until Friday, but now they've disappeared. I heard it might be opened up soon but if I get any invites I'll head back over here and let you know.
Not to sound like I'm against this, because I'm actually really excited about it, but Facebook was really clean in the beginning too, and I know that the games are coming to Plus because they have found the framework for them in the code.
Also, circles are just like friend lists in Facebook with a nicer and more prevalent interface.
I'm looking forward to hangouts, huddles, and a company that I trust a lot more with my information than Facebook.
what is google+
Maybe you should google google+? Just a thought.
Questions like this will get you a Google-.
I think it is a perfectly legitimate question.
Don't click that link!
It's not another flop like Google Wave. Wave was an exceptional idea but they did a terrible job of exposing it to anyone but the social network's cutting edge. I really like how clean it is compared to any current websites. I'm really excited to get an invite and try it out. If anyone has available invites please feel free to send me one :D! [email protected]
if anyone is sending out invites is love one as well. its my username at gmail.com, thanks

With Google+, it seems that they are trying to compete directly with facebook instead of creating their own unique social networking system. That being said, after trying it out for a few days, it definitiely has some good ideas with my favorite being their circle system. One of the problems with facebook is sorting out all your friends and family and Google+ seems to be focusing a lot on this area. It is also nice to be in complete control of who and what people see on your profile page.
I'd like to et an invite an. Try this out. So if anyone is willing [email protected] I'd appreciate it
Is anyone able to get in right now, or have they exceeded capacity?
If not, I'd greatly appreciate an invite, thank you:
I like Google+ a lot. With the "circles" you have much more control over who sees what than you do in fb or twitter, and its much easier to filter only the stuff you want to see. The hangout feature (live video chat) just works. fb doesn't have this at all and it is much easer to use than Skype.
Unfortunately, Google has turned off invites due to insane demand, but I expect they will be turned back on soon.
This is a good, if kinda long, backgrounder on Google+. Worth the read.
Was invited to Google+ by a friend that works for the company about a week ago. Overall, not really that impressed. It's another social network...
I would give out invites to all that are asking, but I have not seen any invites give as of yet.
Been on it for four days so far. Hard to evaluate a social network when I only have two other friends on it right now
It is cleaner than Facebook and the circles are easier to use. But, Facebook does essentially the same thing (and more) it's just that setting up the groups and permissions in FB take a little time
I've essentially split my Facebook into friends/family, coworkers, gaming friends, and my music friends. Once I set up those groups, it was just a matter of placing people in a group.
I think google+ just does a better job o putting their "circle" idea out in front as a central piece of the network, but I really don't see anything too innovative about it
Right now it's clean without the ads, but I expect google to start placing ads all over soon for revenue. That will be the true test if I stick around or not.
I know a lot of people dislike Facebook games, but I happen to enjoy playing one or two at a time. They are typically something I could do during a five minute break at work so they don't consume my life and don't need to be installed on my hard drive
So having said that, I think google+ is missing out without games. If they could find a way to let people play games without spamming the rest of the known universe they might have something.
They do this with your gmail, that's unlikely
You always have the option of deleting your Facebook account.
but then how am i going to be able to see what all 1,241 of my friends are up to? Do you mean i'll actually have to talk to them to find out?
" Do you mean i'll actually have to talk to them to find out?"
That is more interesting than evaluating search engine companies attempt to do social. Makes me think about Facebook clunky doing geolocation. Can't be worse than yahoo's attempt to " reinvent" itself.
Still, the google guy is blue so he must know what he is doing here.
In Google's early thoughts.
I was able to create an account today when a friend shared a photo album with my gmail account. Pretty easy workaround.
I've been able to invite people by sharing something I've posted with their e-mail address. If it's still working, everyone who posted an e-mail should have an invite.
On a side note, I was looking through my family's old photo albums a couple of weeks ago and found a handful of pictures and a ticket stub from a 1953 Washington vs. Michigan game in Michigan stadium. I snapped some pictures with my phone, so that's what I picked to share.
Google+ is still evolving...but I like the features and the clean look it's got. Making circles is very useful, and I've been playing with Sparks, too.
Edit: If anyone else needs an invite, let me know. I'll check back from time to time.
yes, please! (iyq289atgmaildotcom)
Alrighty, should be sent. Let me know if it worked.
I really appreciate your trying, but I haven't received anything...
Some others have had luck going to the site and signing up, even if they didn't get an e-mail. That might be worth a try,
That would be awesome. [email protected]
Done, and done.
You got it!
and I am in.....mucho gracias
Oh, I suppose...
An invite would be much appreciated
Like others below, I didn't get an email, but by visiting plus.google.com, it let me join (unlike in the past when it just let me submit my name to a waiting list).
Please send me an invite if you can. Email: dschenk with the domain being umich.edu. Thank you.
You got it
Thanks for trying, but I have not gotten any email about Google+ (not in the spam folder or anywhere else). If you can, how about you try sending an email to a GMail account of mine- username: ldschenk (with the usual gmail domain). If you're out of invites or something like that, then that's perfectly fine.
Regardless of the result, tkhank you for this.
Note, I don't simply write out the email address due to trying to protect myself from web crawlers that will find the email address and hit it with even more spam than I already get.
I'll try sending it out to your g-mail; hopefully that'll get it done. If not, let me know. It's possible that Google fixed the loophole that lets me do this...
Any chance you have another to spare? My email is cstorm07 (at) gmail (dot) com Thanks!
Yup, should be sent.
Moving post to second page. Ignore.
Please and thanks.
Is that a gmail address?
Alrighty, it's sent.
Do you have any idea how long it should take for us to get the invites?
EDIT: nevermind, I was expecting an email but just going to the site let me in.
Some of the others I'd talked to got e-mails...so I would have been expecting one too. Not sure why you didn't get one, but glad you got in.
i can haz invite? (thank you!) .... tjyoung [at] umich [dot] edu
Thank you. They said they're currently over capacity and can't add more people, but now I'm on their email list and will receive updates when available. Thanks again!
Many please and thanks!!!!
[email protected] please. Very much appreciated you doing this for so many of us.
Happy to do it. I've lurked around here for long enough...I figured I should try and make some kind of worthwhile contribution.
Consider yourself hooked up.
Bradley Horowitz is Blue (https://plus.google.com/113116318008017777871/posts). I'm not sure if this is the same person that HarBooYa mentions. He was a skater and was in a band back in the day.
I'd appreciate an invite as well! ---- benjamindennis at gmail
Crispy Bacon, I think I love you -
If you're still open to sending invites - my email is [email protected]
Thank you, sir,
As long as I"m watching Star Wars and drinking beers, I might as well make myself useful...right?
Could you send me an invite to [email protected]? Much appreciation
You got it

cshanes87 at gmail.com
mcochran at gmail dot com if you've got any more...
Okay, sent out another batch. If you posted before 10:50 I should have sent one to you...
I guess I'll add my name to the list too. Thanks.
Can someone please send me an invite??? I would greatly appreciate it!
I'd appreciate it if I could get hooked up too, thanks!
Alright, I sent out some more at 11:41.
If you posted your info but haven't gotten an e-mail, try just going to plus.google.com and signing up. Some people have had luck with signing up after I've shared with them, even if they haven't gotten an e-mail.
I tried with my albion account, which is a gmail account run through albion, but it says that google profiles is not available for your organization.
So I made a gmail account [email protected] dot com, if you could try sending one to that I would appreciate it.
Thank you!!!! I did not get an email but it worked just by logging in. I really appreciate it!
Not sure if you were the one who sent me the invite, but if so, thanks. If I have any invites I'll send them to anyone else if necessary.
Now to play around with this interface...
Ok, I'll give it a shot. I would be very appreciative if someone could send me an invite to Google+. In return I can offer a desktop sized photo I took at the BGSU vs UM game last fall. I have attached a small version for you to see. Please send the invite to anthonytscherne [at] gmail.com.
Didn't seem to work for me if I got sent an invite. No email, and it still only lets me sign up for the wait list or whatever when I go to the website. But thanks for trying!!!
codeBLUE11, I had to wait about 30 min or so for it to work. When I first tried logging in it would send me to the waitlist as well. But eventually it worked. So try again in a bit.
