I'm a Strat guy all the way.  I like the small radius/large curve on the fretboards of Strats.  Pauls are too physically flat for me on the occasions that I bother to use a pick.  I do love watching LP players get that fat tone, though.

Just got my 2nd LP about 2 months ago (2011 Goldtop Traditional) + '79 Deluxe + '01 Strat ... strats are fun, but the Les Paul crunch is orgasmic.

Google with its Michigan ties always rocks ... now for real !

I'm no music expert, but I do think your last note on The Victors should be an "A" instead of a "G" though..  playing it out on my keyboard on Google, I think its :

Unless there's a former hockey player here, in which case it skips from the first note to the last with the human ear unable to process the notes between.

Thanks for sharing it with us more clueless types. 

I wish I could send your Victors version to an old friend I've lost touch with, a U of Oklahoma alum (played drums in their marching band) who bartended years ago on Les Paul's Monday Nights at Fat Tuesday's in NYC.  One of the few friends I could talk to about college football, except that he had some odd idea that "Let's Go Blue" was actually "Go Big Red."  But he got me in to hear Les Paul one night-- some special occasion when he (friend) wasn't tending bar.  Les Paul was already considered pretty old, but you'd never know it by his magic fingers.
