OT - Good luck Dana

Submitted by danross on

Dana Jacobson just finished her last ESPN SC at 8pm, off to new challenges.

Good luck Dana! We will always have the Mike & Mike roast!

The writing was on the wall when she left the Skip Bayless show. There is no room on ESPN for actual news reporting. Hopefully she lands somewhere that does allow broadcasters to report real news stories.

I've heard that ESPN doesn't pay very well, so it isn't surprising that she'd eventually look to move on to bigger things. Hopefully she finds what she's looking for. Good luck, Dana.

Banhammered for requesting a banhammer?  That's intriguing.  Kind of like a soccer player demanding a yellow card when an opponent is fouled because he thinks that opponent is play-acting.  In some instances, the player that asks for the yellow gets a yellow himself.  In other instances, the fouled player gets the yellow.  This is all very confusing.

I don't, if only because most of the time I'm not even sure why I'm "trolling" with what I've posted.  I can only assume that I have developed an anti-fan club that still dislikes me.  But I'm really a decent guy that most of you would probably get along with in real life.  Or at least someone you would think respects opinions and someone you wouldn't label a "troll" or "flamebait" if you knew me.  Oh well.  But it does kind of hurt my feelings because I really enjoy the Board and participating in the discussions.

Sad that your post got moderated. The devil is really using some people on this board. As much petty stuff as you guys argue about I can't believe an insult to so many people's faith is being allowed to stand. It makes no difference if it's a reference to another person's inappropriate joke or not. It has no place here or anywhere else.

some of you guys would think before making crude comments about her appearence. She seems to have lost a lot of weight and she is a really good broadcaster. I was pissed off last season when U-M finally beat ohio and I heard nothing about a bet w/Jay Crawford. She finally had bragging rights on him and espn never mentioned anything, we sure heard about it all those years ohio cheated their way to victory.

Anyway, good luck Dana, I always enjoyed the work you did and how much you love the U-M.

What's really funny/sad here is that if she wanted to do a monetized blog, and not a recreational one, she could make more money than she did at ESPN.  She has a name, and plenty of followers.  Most bloggers would give a limb to have her place on the food chain right now.

Whatever the case, I hope she does extremely well.  She has great presence, and I thought she was chronically underutilized at ESPN.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see Dana involved with the new ESPN Detroit AM station in the next upcoming months. I heard a podcast a while back saying they were looking for local talent, or something along the lines of that. Maybe Dana is one of those people they were talking about.
