Because the "esteemed" former VP candidate got it on with Glen Rice Sr?
You should know better. Return flight home from Bolivian departs at 1pm on Monday.
[EDIT: See my sincere apologies below. I chalk up my FAIL to sleep deprivation. Forgiveness requested.]
Disgruntled former moderator. I got a lot of problems with you people!
I could be wrong, but I think Brown Bear was going for a "Glen Rice Jr.'s dad had sex with a famous person" joke, and it just so happened that the famous person works in politics.
EXACTLY!!! YEESH! Hahaha. MGoNoFun sometimes here.
I
I totally forgot about the Palin-Glen Rice revelation. I'll reinstate you straight away and hope that you'll forgive my failure. Me no so smart. My apologize.

The worst part about this is that it was a pretty funny joke once you all hammered it home. Sorry for ruining it!

At this point Palin is more known for her celebrity and quirky lifestyle than anything she has done in politics. Now that dude's attempt at humor wasn't funny so neg him for that if you will be hardly politics. So on these boards it's okay to rip on anyone who does something stupid (unless they are a minor or current Wolverine) but if they ever ran for a political office or held an office or declared allegiance to a particular party now we can't chuckle at that person's expense?
It just seems that things have gotten so PC around here and in the off season can't we cut loose a bit?

I have to side with Brown Bear. Because of the previous incident/liason between Glen Rice & said Sarah Palin, that seems to be a reasonable joke about a political person, not about politics.

I know we were after Rice Jr. a little. Were we ever close to landing him? Looks like we dodged a bullet there...pun intended.
Looks like we... /sunglasses dodged a bullet here.
Yeeeeaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I simply cannot believe a young man would do something like this with all he had going for him. Talk about throwing an opportunity away, bringing a gun to a nightclub. Man that is just about as stupid as you can get. What was he thinking?
Sincerely,
Plaxico
Not enough typos or grammar errors to be the real Plaxico.
Jon Runyan plugged my toilet.
so much talent getting wasted at such a young age. Hopefully his dad can get him back on track and a fresh start will help him.
21 years of coaching and every senior who stayed had at least 1 big ten title... That is what " Those who stay will be champions" will really get you Ohio native Bo Schembechler.
Not saying an incident couldn't and won't happen here, but our coaches seem to be quite the molders of young men. Inevitably things will happen, but I have a feeling it will be at a much slower clip than most other programs. Recruiting student athletes with great character as well as great skill, is and always will be the Michigan way with these two coaches in town.
Some kids just can't handle being in their father's shadow. That makes guys like THJ much more special. Hopefully he learns from this and moves on.
Walmart Wolverines are OK in my book!
Ga Tech is a bit of a mess; it can't be fun to be the sixth man on a team that went 11-20. I have to wonder how GRJ would have responded to an environment like the one in Ann Arbor.
He has one more year of eligibility. I hope he amalgamates his waste material and takes advantage of the second chance that he will undoubtedly get. somewhere.
"...but already was serving his third suspension at the time of the incident..."
This kid's a fuckup, plain and simple. Sometimes, you win by losing in recruiting.
I've never understood the whole "I have to be a bad ass" mentality when your a big man on campus, if someone walked up to me and said son, I want to pay for your college I would be doing my best to make sure I did not fuck that opportunity up granted its not like he really needed the scholarship anyways but damn...dont be stupid!
Blue is Faster
So... I guess I can kiss my dream of him transferring to Michigan to play with Tim Hardaway Jr. and Glenn Robinson III goodbye?

Guns are tools built for a specific purpose not toys or accessories.
No patron should take a handgun to a bar/nightclub for any reason because alcohol clouds judgement.
Even if the gun went off accidentally this poor kid is in a world of trouble.

I might have to give you a one way ticket to Bolivia for breaking the no politics rule.

+1. I deserved that.

How can my post be construed as political?
I do not come out and support any political position on handguns.
I make two statements that are common at any CPL class.
Then I talk about the legal ramifications young Rice Jr. is facing and reference Georgia state law, albeit not from an official source.
I don't mean to pick a fight or get sent to Bolivia since my standing on this blog is positively correlated with my sense of self worth and esteem but can I get an explanation? What did you find political so I can correct myself going forward.
Thanks in advance.
I thought Engineers were smart?
I think your post simply provided some ammunition (pun intended) for SanDiego to deservingly scold me. You're all good.
