OT-Game of Thrones S6 E7: The Broken Man

Submitted by Eastside Maize on
Arya is a "fugitive" and her sister is playing the Game. The Blackfish is back and is pissed. Tommen your days are numbered! I can't wait to watch Lady Olenna undress Cersei. WHAT IS DEAD MAY NEVER DIE!

Yeah, the book makes you revile Cersei 100x more than the show. And she's a POV character, so it's not like we're making assumptions about her intentions or anything. She still has her single redeemable quality of loving her kids (although her actions resulting from that are hardly admirable). In the show, she really only made the one big mistake. In the books, she made about a million and they all compounded into the sweet justice of her imprisonment and her shame.

Read this guy's recap of the episode. His theory about Arya's storyline is mind-bottling.

TLDR version - That wasn't Arya. It was Jaqen. He was testing the Waif as she has made her feud with Arya personal and that's not how the Faceless Men do things. Arya knows she is being hunted and would not walk around in the open, especially without Needle.

Except now she looks like she made it inside for the Red Wedding! Really, how can she survive this? I hope she does but I am concerned! Jesus, I gotta get a life.

had heard she gets stabbed but that was brutal, the last time the waif turned the knife in her, I don't know how she survives that but she does have some serious plot armor.

Unfortunately I read an interview with mcshane before the season and he all but gave away the fact that the hound was alive. Good episode though. Definite table setter for the end of the season. Aryas story has been a big snooze and tonight's didn't help. She will survive, even though that is a real bad wound, too much plot armor. I still think her story could get a ton better.

Some the crazy fan theories on aura may be coming true.

1. She and the waif are all like fight club (notice how no one ever see the waif on the streets?) and
2. They are setting her up to be lady stone heart from the books.

I thought the theories were crap until last nights episode. And although I wasn't crazy about the aura thing (walk in the shadows for gods sake gal!), the fan theories make it really interesting.

Didn't think these were spoilers , rather fun conjecture.

I had high hopes given how E6 ended but now she has to take a long voyage to mend or come upon some kind of healer and a half.  I think she finds Theon and he gets a chance at redemption yet again saving another Stark.

Winterfell isn't falling to Jon Snow...it's the Night Kings prize I think as is Ramsay I can only hope.  It's getting kind of hectic.  I'm not seeing how they can tie it all up.

You'd think Arya would have been more paranoid, but maybe she didn't realize just what the consequences of her failure would be. And when your attacker can be anybody, well, you can't really be suspicious of everybody, can you? There are just too many people in the city.

Maybe Sansa's note is for Littlefinger, saying she needs the army of the Vale after all.

Can't remember the sub reddit, but I believe the username is truede. I'll see if I can find it and then post it here for you.

Edit: This article provides a pretty comprehensive overview of truede's thread, which has been taken down. You can also search the username to find his/her answers to specific questions.  DO NOT CLICK THIS LINK IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ POTENTIAL MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON.
