OT- Game of Thrones S6 E6: Blood of My Blood

Submitted by Eastside Maize on
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. Sansa is learning to play the game. Arya better complete her task or she will lose more than her vision. Will we see the Blackfish for the first time since the Red Wedding? Save room for a nice juicy slice of ginger minge. WE DO NOT SOW

I don't think we'll see the Blackfish this week. His confrontation wil be with Jaime leading the Lannister/Frey siege on Riverrun. Jaime will still be in King's Landing this week going against the High Sparrow.

hope we get to see Benjen Stark save Bran and Meera this week. I'm also predicting Ayra kills the Waif today. Last but not least I am still holding out hope that the big dragon eats Dany

Has anyone else killed a White Walker? And she's the only witness, right?

Wasn't it Sam the Bookish who read in a mouldering tome about the WW's vulnerabiliity to dragonglass? But I'm guessing he needs to be a Maester, because otherwise no one south of the wall will believe him.

Doesn't that takes many years, though? Just how long does the world have? It's not like he can buy a Maester's chain and degree on the internet.

Sam may not yet have the strength to wield it, but he took a big step in that direction when he claimed Heartsbane for himself -- it is rightfully his as he is the righteous son, the only member of the Tarly family who understands what the sword is for and who has proven himself to be brave enough to use it when it counts. His father forfeited the sword when he failed to take his son's experience seriously. I mean, they were boasting about hunting/fighting for sport while laughing at Sam for talking about hunting/fighting to survive. But they lost Heartsbane when they brushed off as childish myth a firsthand account of mortal combat straight from the Wall from the man chosen to become the next Maester of the Night's Watch.

...even somewhat took over the city in a police/military sense. I have a hard time getting past that. I like that they are (I think purposefully) showing Dany to be a questionable choice for ruler. I'm always happy to see Sam and Gilly. Sam taking that sword seems like it will be important, and it was nice to see him tell his father to go to hell in deed if not in word.

Tommen. All of what you saw tonight was a show. She has been humiliated by Tommen's inability to protect her from High Sparrow's persecution and thus understands that this is not a king to hitch your horse to.

People are expecting Cersei to deal the death blow to Sparrow, but that won't happen. Cersei will fail for the final time.

The power vacuum left by his unexpected death caused Cersei to find a way to distract the masses whilst she provided Tommen with on-the-job-training. Unfortuantely, it has backfired on her terribly.

She thought that at some point Tommen would have desposed of High Sparrow. She never expected that Tommen would be cowed by the High Sparrow. Strength,as Cersei is finding out, is not a trait all Lannisters possess.
