OT: funny story on a slow day (involves osu fan idiocracy)

Submitted by The Blue in Ohio on

Background info: I live in Ohio just east of columbus, and am a very proud Michigan.

I was on my way to pick up my wife from school today and next to me was a middle aged couple in a van that kept honking. So I turned my head to look at them and they were waving an osu hat at me while flipping me off (they must have noticed the 3 michigan hats in my back window). So as we were approaching a red light the couple must have not realized it because as i was slowing down they were mainting there speed (about 50 mph) and ran into the back of a cop car. I didn't stay to see what happened because I was already late to get my wife. Just thought I'd share this experience with all mgousers. It just goes to show how big of idiots (most) osu fans are.

Given that the car accident appears to have been precipitated by the couple's love for TSIO football, the police officer probably "looked the other way" and did not cite them for any violations.  The couple and the police officer probably just took their cars to Auto Direct or Jack Maxton Chevrolet for a bitchin' loaner-car for the next couple months while the football fans at the car dealership work out the problems with the original cars.

Faggedabadit, kid, it's Columbustown.

Classy folks.  They were going to keep honking and honking until you could see them flipping you off.  That's working extra hard to be an asshole.

Nice happy ending, though.

they got off rear-ending a cop car.  The cop had to give them a ticket or else he would have a lot a 'splainin' to do.

My brother-in-law has this thing he says about people in Ohio: Those damn Ohio drivers.

In (sort of) unrelated OSU news, Bobby Carpenter was on Columbus sports radio today and made some really, really stupid comments.  There is unlikely to be a podcast available, but I promise you it happened.  When discussing Brady Hoke and his recruiting in Ohio, he said that he hopes Kyle Kalis "swims across Lake Erie, catches dysentery, and dies".  He went on to say that Kalis would be alone as an Michigan commit from Ohio (if alone means 9+) and that he'd be begging to come back to Ohio after this season.  Brutal.

on the highway, so changed stations.  Krenzel is a much better fill-in than Bobby when one of the MyGuy/TheTorg is away.  Was tempted to dial in and nominate Brady Hoke as "My Guy" but figure I'd never get past their phone call screener (or the delay button).  Sadly, his blathering is captured here and occured around the :35 or :40 time period if I recall.

because there is no way any of those Ohio kids would ever consider going back to tosu, however the season plays out, after their fans and former players have been trashing them publicly.  What a bunch of idiots.

If they need money to fix their car, I know of a fund from which their repair bills might be paid....

They can run a 4.37 40, yes?

I would be curious to know how exactly they explained their inattention to the road to this officer....."We were so enraptured by our blind adoration for OSU football that a day in traffic court seems but a mere pittance....". Wait, would that be considered English in Columbus?

I live in NE Columbus and over the years I've witnessed plenty of buckhead ignorance.  Once in a long exhausting line 2 days before Christmas the guy behind me (about 7th in line) says "go bucks".  Naturally I'm not responding to thatso he repeats this 2 more time, each time a little louder. Finally I turn to the guy and explain that I'm a Michigan fan.  Wow!  This reject gets out of the line and walks back to the end which easily has 30 - 35 people.  After finishing at the counter I just shake my head as I walk past him.

I was leaving COSI (science center in Columbus) with my 7 year old son this Spring.  My van shows my pride for Michigan.  I hear the car next to me beeping the horn like crazy and I'm thinking, here they go again - stupid OSU fans.  Happily I was wrong.  It was two guys showing me their Michigan tattoos!  I told my son, "See Michigan fans are EVERYWHERE!"

Since all of my points expired and I can no longer start a thread, I was wondering if someone can help me out with a Michigan legal question.

So I was pulled over last night for having an expired (Michigan) license tag. I ended up getting a warning in that, but received a Traffic Misdemeanor for not changing my Driver's License from Maryland (where I'm originally from) to Michigan. I've been living in AA for 6 years, but the first 5 I was a student, and I started working downtown last year. I never changed my Driver's License cause 1.) it wasn't expired, and 2.) I never thought it was required. Should I try to fight this ticket? If so, should I get a lawyer?

Also, I checked the Michgan Laws regarding updating address to SOS, and it stated that the first offense results in a civil infraction, and the 2nd would cause a Traffic Misdemeanor. Can/should I fight this charge?

I know this isn't exactly the perfect forum, but any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
