OT - Friday Recruiting: Shave the Date! Fight against Prostate and Testicular Cancer

Submitted by boliver46 on

 Hi All!

The countdown has started leading up to SHAVE THE DATE!

Movember begins November 1st!  I've committed my face to the cause and will be growing a moustache for the entire month of November to raise funds and awareness for men's health.  Ideally you would start Nov. 1 with a clean-shaven face and grow a 'stache throughout the month.

I’d like you all to support our team as we fight the good fight. I would appreciate your support for the cause with a donation. You can donate to our moustaches by accessing the site below.  It would be great to have you join the team (and the fight) as well!  You can signup to join the team at the same site.  Join your MGoBrothers (and sisters) in supporting this worthy cause!

Join us today!

Edited due to the comments below:

Movember (the month formerly known as November) is a moustache growing charity event held during November each year that raises funds and awareness for men's health.  Donations are collected and distributed among various areas of support including: Awareness and Education, Living With and Beyond Cancer, Staying Mentally Healthy Living With and Beyond Mental Illness, and Cancer Research.

<Donate to Me> is a way to contribute directly to the Movember cause, but is allocated to a specific team member vs. donated to the team as a whole.  There is no difference in how the money is distributed or handled as it all goes directly to the Movember charity.

some kind of statement about what your project IS; not at all clear. ["The X organization is dedicated to promotion of awareness of x cancers and raises funds on campuses around the country. Employing a spirit of humor, etc., . The money we raise goes to x, y, and z."]

In fact, the "Donate to me" link makes it look like you might just be collecting money for yourself, rather than a cause.

you for your concern and suggestions.  This is the third such post I have made to recruit team members and donations - so didn't rehash everything.  Future posts will link to my previous posts to alleviate confusion and/or concern about the validity of the cause or questions about my integrity or intentions.

Please see my updated description above and let me know if you feel additional clarifications should be made.

I was wondering if we were supposed to do some extra manscaping to show awareness of prostate and testicular cancer...  glad I was wrong and we do not have to discuss that on here.

Carry on.
