OT: Friday Open Thread - Whatcha working on today? Posbang anyone?

Submitted by profitgoblue on

So it looks like this might be a regular off-season thread since each of the last three Fridays I've wanted to jump out of my window here at work to put myself out of misery.

Whatcha working on today?  Any good or interesting plans for the weekend?

Me, I've got the monumental task of figuring out what to get profitgowife for Mother's Day and trying to negotiate a confidentiality agreement with an a--hole lawyer on the other side.  This weekend is filled with kids stuff, including a toddler birthday party at a playground tomorrow.  Actually, a pretty nice little Saturday.  We might make a trip to Home Depot.  Maybe Bed Bath & Beyond.  I don't know.  I don't know if we'll have enough time.

Beautiful car. One of the last of the 964s before they switched to the 993s. I think that Guards Red is one of the best colors out there, of course if I find a 75 Turbo British Racing Green would look good too. How I reconsile wanting a green or red car I don't know... Coach Hoke would not approve. There is always speed yellow....

I was just thinking the same thing about all of my Ferraris!  I'm going to have to run out and buy a yellow one to balance things out.  I'll just charge it to one of my many, many AMEX Black cards.  In fact, I think I'll just cash in my "free car" pass at the Ferrari dealership.  Because I've purchased 10 in the last year I get the next one free.  Geez, I've come a long way since the days of driving that Honda Accord . . .

My 5 year old son is hell bent on going fishing this weekend.  He has asked me every day this week "how many days until Saturday?"  So tomorrow we are going fishing together, and I am not complaining about this.

I've got three, which makes things a little busy during stuff like this but one should be a piece of cake.  I took my oldest fishing when he was 3 and it was fun, but short.  You should just have fun and be prepared for her to lose interest in about 30 minutes or less.

That's how it goes, but it is still fun to get some one on one time.

I know the caretaker at a 23 acre private lake that's stocked every year but none of the owners fish it.  She should be able to catch big bluegill all day, so hopefully that would keep her attention.  It's on about 700 acres so there would be plenty to do if she tires of the fishing.  Why haven't I done this yet?  Hope your trip goes well.

My son is two and he goes along (though not if we go out on a boat), but I wouldn't take him without someone else going along if you plan on actually fishing. He likes to reel in the line and he always screams "fish!" when he's reeling. You do have to watch the hooks, but my wife usually keeps him occupied/keeps an eye on him when we're doing serious fishing. It's a blast though.

I'm taking two of my kids too. Pike should be getting feisty this time of year. Never tried em down here in GR area this early before. I'm sure the kids will kill the panfish, though. I guess in the end that's all that counts.

Trying to get through one last day. Vacation begins at 5! Going to take the wife and son to Disney World for a few days, then get out on the Atlantic and catch some fish! Hoping for some snapper or a good sized cobia would be nice.

Martin County has an ordinance where one cannot build a building taller than 4 stories so the high rise condos and hotels will never be there.  I used to think it was stupid but seeing how quickly built up and touristy palm beach and st lucie counties are I don't mind at all.

Oh wait, wrong thread. Guess I'm about ten hours early (/s if that's actually necessary).

In all seriousness, waiting around until 3:30, getting a new shirt and heading off to work at 4:30.

So I have a 3rd follow-up call on a quasi-confidentiality agreement in a couple hours. If you're the attorney on the other side, I may be an A-hole, but you're a moron.

I'm guessing you're not the attorney, however, as she doesn't appear to have the necessary IQ points to have gotten anywhere near UM.
