OT: Friday Open Posbang (?) Thread: Whatcha Working On?

Submitted by profitgoblue on

In case you've already read Brian's comprehensive front pager about receivers individual stats in recent years and are looking for some good, clean fun, here's an off-topic question for those "hard" at work this warm, sunny Friday afternoon:

Watcha working on there in the office (or wherever you are)?

Me, I'm sitting on what is possibly boringest** of boring conference calls about the policies and procedures of escheating unclaimed funds to the state.

(I should be honest:  I'm actually reading the blog and watching Battlefield 3 videos on YouTube as the speaker drones on in the background.)

(**new word)

Work done. Just ran the dog at the park and now I'm going to go hit a large bucket at the range. Looks like the winter that wasn't (in Michigan anyway) is about to give us one last slap tomorrow with rain and temps in the 40s. Later? Beer.

Testing ambulatory clinical software electronic prescribing functionality from start to finish and verifying the outgoing XML message.  Then I have to modify the XML and send it back through to hopefully receive the designed functionality on the front end.   Also, gouging out my eyes.

What are your thoughts on Pep stepping down?

It would have been nice to see Bielsa get the job, but I think Vilanova is going to do just fine.

Great question.  I'm a fairly new fan (started watching soccer just this season) and so didn't live through the past years.  I definitely like the way Bilbao plays but from what I've read about the new guy it seems as though he's going to keep the same philosophy as Guardiola.  Their style of play is what drew me to them over all the other teams I surveyed before picking a favorite.

Will Guardiola go coach somewhere else?  Chelsea?

I've actually been expecting Pep to step down.  He hinted at stepping down earlier because he said he felt burnt out.

Pep actually spent time with Bielsa to learn his tactics.  There is nothing better than watching possession football like Barca and Bilbao.  Or even some of the Dutch clubs like Ajax who coach total football and are supreme technicians on the ball.

I'm not sure.  You could tell how much stress he was under with the amount of hair he was losing each year.

IMO, he wont coach Chelsea.  If he goes to a EPL I'm sure there will be growing pains.  It would be like what we went through when RR came here.

It'll definitely be interesting to see how things go next year for Barca.  I don't think I'll have as much time to watch the games as I do now though.

Did you catch the two Champions League matches against Chelsea.  That second game was probably one of the most frustrating sporting events I've ever watched.  Watching the second half felt like hot needles poking my eyeballs.

I am actually spending the final 15 minutes or so here trying to appear as if I am buried in some complex Excel spreadsheet, for after all, MGoBlog is in fact a complex Excel spreadsheet, right? *makes pivot table from NFL Draft open threads*

Doing some studying for the MCAT, while trying to find a place for my volunteer organization to do some work.  So if anyone knows of a place that works with kids (I'm on the children's committee) in the Ann Arbor area that needs volunteers, just tell me, I could use a lead.

But, I'm honestly just happy to get out of our house, but only  because we had our hot water heater crack last night  break and flood some of our basement, so it's been a mess.

Sitting here thinking about how next week is my last week of work for "the man," ever.  I have started my own business and I am going full time with it on May 7.

Until then, I sit here in my cube reading MGoBlog.

Working on a Java based PDF reporting JAR that will interface with my Adobe AIR application.  Will shortly be giving up and going home to start drinking heavily and watching NFL draft coverage

into storage for the summer and taking all of my things back into my apartment by the end of the day because the lease on his apartment is up tomorrow. Also, my mom, dad, sisters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dad's girlfriend, are all getting into town in 3 hours for graduation tomorrow, and we have to be done with all the moving by then because my grandparents cannot find out that I was residing with my boyfriend. Would've saved a bunch of money on rent, but whatever.

And my dad wants me to find him somewhere to park his RV.  LOL.

Research proposal.   Damn, stupid research proposal that just doesn't want to write itself.   In my mind, I'm already thinking about what I'm going to post for the "Friday Evening What Are You Drinking Thread".
