OT: Friday Night Open/"What are you drinking?" Thread

Submitted by Wenham Wolverine on

Gorgeous Al is gorgeous.

Someone asked for a thread about how gorgeous Gorgeous Al is; here you go.

(My goodness, that is a gorgeous human being.)

Discuss Al, baseball, Red Wings preseason hockey, fine beverages, or any other topic that doesn't belong elsewhere.

I have a friend coming over tonight to celebrate his birthday this weekend.  He'll be staying the night in our guest room so we can watch the game tomorrow morning.  This good friend happens to be an SDSU alum, so the game should be interesting.

Yes, he was born and raised there and has told me all about it.  We actually live just up the street from a Gordon Biersch, which we frequent, er, frequently.

This guy actually likes Michigan, he was accepted out of high school but his parents (who are Greek immigrants) wouldn't let him leave San Diego for school and he ended up at SDSU.  Since then he's been a huge Michigan fan anyway.

Didn't realize it was a SoCal thing. I discovered it in Hawaii at a UH volleyball match. Those Wahine know how to do it up right! The restaurant is pretty nice too.  Have you had the garlic fries? Hot damn I might have to visit there tonight (the one in greater Denver that is).

Hate to one up you, but I just woke up after a night of drinking at the Oktoberfest in Munich, Germany.  Hit the Spaten and Hacker-Pschorr "tents".  What an amaizing time.  Anyone who likes bier and fun has to make the pilgrimage.  One more trip down before I fly home Sunday morning.  Go Blue From Germany!

I kind of feel like a traitor ,so maybe when I get home I'll try not to drink a SD beer.  For me it is so easy and convinient to buy these good SD microbrews.  It is harder to find the Michigan microbrews around here.  There is a bar in downtown SD that sometimes has the Jolly Pumpkin stuff on tap, but that is about it.

Just cracked the first bottle of two sixers brought back from my buddy's trip to the EMU game last weekend.  It's better appreciated and savored when not readily available...

Bought one if those Miller lite keg things that you keep in the fridge. $19.99 for it. Went home and did the math and it only holds 16 beers. I could have gotten a case for $18.99. Thats 8 less beers for a buck more!

I'm so stupid.

Btw, would rather drink much better beer, but have to go low card to avoid a diabetic coma.

Considering making a run over to Half-Acre to get a growler of Sticky Fat.  If I'm too lazy it'll be DFH Punkin Ale and/or homebrew.
