Happy Friday, fellas. Long week here, I'm sure I'm not the only one. I have a wife who is 2 days past her due date and is quite tense, haha. I have to stay light tonight, so I'm just enjoying Sam Adams company.
What about you?
Stiff as all hell.
Maize and blue koolaid
Hoegaarden in combination with Leffe.
Dew and the dude!!!
had a couple brews at the office. heading home now (on the now ofc), and gonna crack open some whisky.
Nice choice. Sam Adams Latitude ipa... Was on sale and i'm a bargain shopper
Came home and the GF had Hopslam waiting in the fridge for me. Yes it is indeed awesome.
Starting off with Monster and raspberry vodka, moving on to Fat Tire when I'm through drinking liquor.
For what its worth, Brian Kelly is at the Luers Basketball game to watch Jaylon Smith. Second game in a couple weeks they have been at.
So I keep hearing about this McFarlin guy...who is he?
PS: justingoblue told me to ask this and I don't really know what it means.
Just a kid and his bulldog. Do you need his contact info??
adderal and redbull, huge anatomy and physiology exam on tues
There's no moderate "healthy living" tag, but that's what your post needs.
Classing it up.
I don't even know when I've seen that lately. The last time I saw it a 12 pack would cost you like $6.
It's Campus Corner's "special."
solid bro. solid.
It's my firm belief, that Journey sounds much better with a good buzz.
Journey is NOT overrated, I demand a retract of that overrated moderation.
Vodka + OJ.
Unfortunately I'm drinking absolut. Not too smooth, but still effective.
Their new Ruthless Rye and damn is it yummy.
Labatt Ice tall boys. 6 pack for $3.99 can't beat it
Cheap merlot, then some Milwaukee's Best Light...pure class
I'd go beast ice, but I still respect your purchasing decisions
Fresh Hopslam on tap at Ashley's in A2. Probably have a Dirty Bastard or two. Then top the night off with some Viking Blod.
Have you had the Dansk Mjod with caraway? It's pretty fantastic. Drinking "Monte Degli Angeli Sangiovese" myself... my wife's working in Ireland for the next 2 months... gonna be a lot of drinking around here.
All I've had is the V Blod. I've seen the other stuff though. The one that's 21% and also the one with the orange colored bottle. Maybe one day I'll have to try them.
Howell Meijer sells V Blod for like $27. Not bad.
Drinking OE800. Just kidding, although that is what I drank in school when we were digging change from the couch.
It's really Bells Two Hearted
When I heard the 2012 edition of Hopslam was coming out I called around to a few places in the greater DC area, one or two of which said they would be getting some in a week or two and would contact me then. It turns out that beer buyers down here are all very familiar with Hopslam as it is highly sought and sells out immediately. Some places that are fortunate enough to get it, ration their supply, limiting one six pack per customer.
To wrap up my cool story (bro), I got a call yesterday from a store who had put a six pack on reserve for me; picked it up later that evening. Will try my first one tonight as soon as I'm out of the office and safely home.
Sure it seems ridiculous to those who don't obsess over finding rare DIPAs, but I snapped a commemorative photo:
I was near the Total Wine in Fairfax today, so I called them up and they had Hopslam in stock. Said they got it in yesterday, expect to sell out by tomorrow, but they still had 3 cases left. I think they only sell one 6 pack at a time, like you said; I actually had to go to customer service and ask for it because they keep it behind the counter. If you or anyone else in the area wanted to pick some (more) up, you could probably catch it tomorrow morning.
I'm having Hopslam tonight based entirely on reviews from you guys on this board. My friend who plays in Kalamazoo got me two six packs to take back to school. I'm down 5 on the night and have a sweet buzz going so far. These things are delicious, and dangerous too.
Doubt your still checking this thread Doc, but a deli that's close to my house and typically carries pretty good beer got a shipment of Hopslam in. They sold me a case today. Not cheap, but damn it is a good beer. Coincidentally someone also sent me a video from WTOP and they selected Hopslam the beer of the month. According to the video there should be a second wave of Hopslam coming in late February.
That's crazy... Here in Michigan it's on the shelves at Meijer... Man I'm blessed to live in such a great beer state.
Just had one on tap at Bell's!
The fuck I can get my h ds on!
It's all about the founders tonight. Starting with some Centennial, bottle or two of imperial stout later. Maybe get some reds rye to close out the night.
I'm still wrapping up work, but it will be JW black label in about an hour.
EDIT: It's interesting/funny to see the variety on here between the posters. If I were posting this 10 years ago (when I was in college) it would have been "Busch Light, if I decide to splurge."
of Budweiser here......mmmmm good!
Normally would be crown, but in celebration for my wife giving birth to our daughter it's captain(her drink). Born 5 days ago.
Congrats & i hope it's as fast as my wife's.
Congratulations to you and your family. Good luck and enjoy the good times!
Congrats to all the growing MGoFamilies. In related news, my 18-month old said Go Blue for the first time today, which probably made me more excited than his first steps.
I've been teaching my 4 year old that since he started talkin now when ever I talk to him on the phone the first thing he says is go blue. Pisses his moms family off they are all on the Sparty side
Now thats something to be proud of.
Is it just me or does Vodka taste like goat piss?
I've never had goat piss, I wish I could help you.
Sam Adams is kinda icky to me. I'm on Cabin Fever brown ale by New Holland tonight.
All Sam Adams or just Boston Lager? I feel like all of their beers are so standard it's hard to classify them as "icky."
Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, Goose Island Green Line, and most likely some Yuengling later tonight.
At san antonio grill about to show these margaritas who's boss
Tito's Handmade Vodka
I'm brewing a batch of IPA and drinking copious amounts of it as well! Cheers!
I won a home brewing kit a few weeks ago, it'll be my first foray into the art... any tips?
...if it doesn't look like anything is going on. I re-pitched the yeast and probably didn't need to. Still looked like nothing happened with my 1st effort even after re-pitching...but there's alcohol and carbonation, so obviously something did.
Good ole Sailor Jerry have met again
Blue Light. I actually cracked it open instead of the two hearted ale sitting next to it in my fridge. Sometimes you just feel like a Blue Light...
Also listening to some Devotchka who happen to be playing at Hill Auditorium this very second. My sister, who's at the concert, called to make sure I'm good and jealous.
1st bottle of beer that I made myself. Ever. Got the kit for Christmas.
Kit came with "columbus hops"...so I modified the recipe. Those hops went in the trash.
RUM AND COKE.
The cheapest shit possible. It was like 6 dollars for a fifth.
Haha laughed really hard at this thank you
Johnny Walker Red Label. Livin on a budget.
On the rocks, neat, or how are you drinking it? I went to a JW tasting event and they had us try it with Orangina... which was oddly good.
Coffee... grading undergrads

red bull...ER shift starts in an hour
I drinks alcohol
Have there ever been any MGoBarCrawls?
Like, this is the alcohol talking, but I'm always curious about what you people look like IRL. That, and I'm paranoid about complaining about posters to my friends when I visit A2 and having them be behind me in line or some shit.
It's really fitting and awesome that this post was your 1000th.
Blues. Key word is few. I have decided to work tomorrow and pretty much as Saturdays just to get some extra money, starting to look at the possibility of purchasing a home rather than renting one.
but if you're mixing Guiness, you might as well just do Irish car bombs. Delicious.
and PBR (obviously) in Carrboro, NC
Went to a crazy Benihana-type place in Evanston tonight where the hibachi chefs squirted sake into the mouths of patrons using a plastic squeeze bottle from a distance of about 5 feet. Lots of sake-in-the-eye syndrome.
I'll be fucking fat girls in no time.
You can drink em pretty, but you can't em skinny.
mmm MMM BITCH
and I am chasing that with some Budweiser! Congrats on the baby, my wife and I just had our first child on 01-03-12, a bubbling baby boy.
Drinking the Yuengling tonight!!!
with the girl, so it's leffe for me tonight.
On to Labatts Blue. Coors Light gone.
You chose coors light before labatt? To each their own. :)
Trying to eat better but also switched to light beer and diet coke in mixed drinks! So far I am down 7 lbs in a month.
To hang out with a friend, her bf, and other guys and play kings. I'm such a good friend.
Drink Hopslam while you can. That is one of Kevbo's Lasting Lessons.
I'm still sipping on Molson's. High gravity Canadian beer for the win.
Ice-cold Myers and Coke; copious amounts of ice!
Now I'm thinkin' bout the Bursley days and the Douglas 4-7 progressives. Is it possible to get a flash back-hangover?
Good times 6th Doug here
You guys always had the best parties. Maybe that's why we always beat you in pick-up football games the day after.
