OT: Friday Night Lights

Submitted by James Burrill Angell on

For those of you not making the trip over to Pioneer HS to see Braylon's all-star basketball game, apparently the fifth and final season of Friday Night Lights will make its network debut Friday night at 8pm EST.

in the show anything like the movie?  I thought that Berg's direction/production in the movie was absolutely spectactular and have been hesitant to watch the show so as to not "ruin" the movie.  But the more I hear the more I am tempted to rent the entire series.

I think the show dominates the movie in storytelling. As for production value, it's very high for a television show. Great in HD- lots of use of slow panning and wide shots of the Texas terrain (even though the show is filmed in East Texas, which doesn't look a whole lot like West Texas, where the show is supposed to be set). But yes, it's a visual treat as a TV show.

no joke its hoke

he lives a few blocks from the highschool they shoot the show at in Huto,Texas. He has been a extra on it the last two years. They even paid him to sit in a strip club for 6 hours shooting one of the shows. Not a bad gig huh lol

Put it on NBC now?? The show is one of the best I've ever seen..its sad it ended I just don't know why they would put it on network now when if you really wanted to watch you would have already seen it.

I loved FNL.  I watched this season on the 101 on directv. Great season and great show. I will miss it. They did a real nice job of ending the show. It is a little different than the movie. Both great. If you have not watched the show you should. I loved the book, movie and show.  Full eyes, full hearts, cant lose!
