I've had two double ardmore scotchets (smokey) and a couple double rum & cokes. I'm drunk off my ass. What are you drinking. WHOO!!
OT - Friday night drinking thread
Just Bud Light aluminum pints for me...
7 Sam Adams...Go Blue!
Theyre good you should try it
It's something I would consider, except I like my kidneys. AM I allowed to spell kidneys right when I'm this drunk? I don't know! Seriously, my eyes won't focus and I'm thrilled to death about it.
Have a designated typer?
You should try Sprecher Black Bavarian (a lager that tastes like a porter) and Sam Adams Dark Depths Baltic IPA. First time trying it and it's one of the best Porters I've ever had.
Getting ready for the season, having a couple Miller Lites.
If you're going to visit frats, must be Natty Light. Alcoholic water. a mircale of penniless, made of poor beverage engineering. I played some entertaining strip-beer-pong to that, I did. Now, if only I could remember an of it.
When going with really shitty beers, I prefer to have Beer-30 Light. It has a shockingly high shittyness to price ratio, which far exceeds even Natty light.
Y'all are crazy. The Beast Light is the best cheap beer you can get.
makes my gut feel like I drank battery acid
I like Natty better than Busch. I'm not hitting any frats though, Miller Lite is my "lucky" season beer lol
Should I start drinking to contribute to this thread?
Oh so yes.
I'll go upstairs and grab a Labatt then.
Aw hell... I guess as long as it will get you drunk.
"And their beer sucks!"
I'm in northern Michigan right now, that's practically Canada without mounties.
before the Canadian menace crosses Lake Superior and threatens our beloved UP. Prepare yourselves!
We must prepare!
We need to prevent the frozen menace from approaching!
Quick, to the Dragonmobile! We must scout our northern border immediately!
Thankfully, the Night's Watch and the Wall lie between us and the far north!
I'll pack an extra beaver pelt for warmth in the desolate wastelands of the north. Armored ice bears await! Luckily I still have my precious golden compass...
Ha, I have immunity to downvotes. Click away, anonymous detractors!
Magic Hat Elder Betty Weiss. Yeah, I enjoy fruity beer. Big whoop, wanna fight about it?
I need more scotch, dammit.
How do you feel about Mike's Hard?
Always takes a back seat to sangria and cider.
*fistbump for a fellow sangria fan*
why Dominick's is awesome. they have that sangria niche. such a fun place to chill. also, look how much I positively moderate everyone while drinking!
I have yet to go there despite this being my last year at Michigan. But I am going to make a point to get out there sometime soon. Maybe welcome week, when it's still warm. Nothing like sangria when it's hot outside.
is acceptable to drink when playing console video games with friends. I am specifically thinking of Mario Party 8 for Game Cube. Something about the flavor and candor of the beverage works extremely well in that specific situation.
Feel about Mike's hard.
Labatts currently (in my opinion, a highly underrated beer. Great taste for the price). I've had a glass of wine and a mojito earlier, because why the hell not.
The older I get, the more I like wine.
just some good old diesel for me
Bell's two-hearted ... my personal fave, which I can (mercifully) procure here in Madison! I'm throwing an old school house party tomorrow night in my new apartment overlooking the lake, I've stocked up on Miller Light to appease the natives. should be good.
Used to love Two Hearted but I fear that it is on the same path as Oberon - mass produced and much weaker.
Crooked Tree IPA is where you need to be, Two Hearted is good but Crooked tree is phenomenal.
Busch light with a tiny pinch of lime juice in each can.
Good choice. Definitely the most palatable of the cheap beers.
Smokey, but not quote Laphroig, which is almost overly smokey.
ABC Fudge Stout - Midly chocolate, which some people don't seem to get. Fudge is not neceessarily chocolate, people! It can be anything!
RC & Coconut Rum - yeah, it's what it sounds like
Gosling's Dark Rum & A&W Cream Soda - Better than it sounds like.
+ more ardmore.
I shoud stop before my liver decides to divorce me.
Probably the last of it I'll see until next summer. Then again, I think Sam's Octoberfest and the seasonal fall beers now rolling in will keep me happy. Binny's run tomorrow.
Fictional +1 for the Binny's reference. Big fan here, big fan...
Screw wool! Go Booze!
Just finished playing a (IRL) game of catan a few hours ago. How is it online?
I'm getting ganged up on a lot lately but that comes with the territory. There are a lot of different options for game setup, e.g. Friendly Robber, which prevents robbing or blocking anybody with 2 victory points. A lot of people like to play that way.
The free accounts allow you to play the basic game with 3 or 4 players. Paid accounts allow you to play Seafarers, Cities and Knights and whatnot.
In obscure gametypes is totally encouraged in drinking threads, regardless of the exact game.
It's becoming more mainstream in this day and age. There's a hardcore community out there since the 90s that bakes Catan cakes and so forth. My brother taught me how to play and I practice a lot online.
A few housemates and I got it last fall, and it's been a mainstay in our house ever since. I definitely am surprised that it hasn't caught on more in the US, it's a damn good game. Glad to see it's gaining popularity.
Now we just need this:
That kind of humor is right up my alley. Love it!
Good job on the win!
I actually one a game earlier today 10-9-9-9. It was kind of crazy, I've never been in a game that close before.
I love it when all my opponents are stuck at 9 and can't score that last point. What was your breakdown of the 10 points--which resources did you try to gain control of as the game went on? Any strategy insights you can offer would be very appreciated!
Bush, that's not even beer. Way too watered down. Miller lite I can respect. Even a Bud. One must not drink to simply get drunk, okay, that's a stretch. But seriously, pick a more respectable beer.
Chech alcohol content, all the same. Who do you think makes Busch? Miller lite tastes like ass.
Two Hearted Ale.
Pouring it into a Pilsner glass, admiring the amber color, then promptly downing it.
A balanced IPA. Excellent choice! Nice glass, toast to you!
had THA on sale this week. Must be fall clearance. Time to stock up!
Working ... Drinking... Working..
kicks ass. I would trade you lives except I like my man-parts.
ATTENTION EVERYONE: BLAZEFIRE IS DURNK!
(also he likes his man parts)
Is goddamn rigbht.
Was to get this project done "by Friday"...which it still is, technically...but I'm not sure they meant at midnight...
Still. Not. Done. Need refill.
Enjoyed a few beers at the Hootie and the Blowfish Homegrown concert in Charleston, SC. Great show tonight.
Trying this collaboration brew from Alpine and New Belgium Brewing called Super IPA. Since MGoBrewMom raves about Alpine, and with an avatar like that she knows what she's talking about when it comes to beer, I thought I'd pick it up. And wow, this is GOOD. Too bad ive never seen any actual Apline brews around here,
Ommegang Abbey Ale.
Where did you get it? I like New Belgium too...I do love the Alpine IPAs. Nothing better imho...not even Pliney. But unless you're in the San Diego area, Alpine is super hard to find. Very small operation, but supposedly getting bigger soon...
I'll be on the look out for that collaboration!
The description on the side of the bottle litteraly says something like "consider yourself lucky that you've found a Alpine brew ouside SD." I actually purchased it down at Total Wine here in the San Fernando Valley (suburb of Los Angeles) after about 30 minutes of searching for an Alpine brew.
Wow though, If you hold Alpine brews higher han Pliney. This only increases my curiosity.
Straight. All day, everyday
All day, everyday?
Sir. I regret to inform you. That might be alcoholism.
Almost died drinking that in college. Be careful, please.
is nectar of the gods. My preference is a personal fifth in a paper bag.
May I suggest Coppola Cabernet. About $15.00 per bottle. Absolutely fantastic.
However, this is coming from a person that can barlely read his monitor. Take it fo what it's worth.
Has anyone here tried Agwa de Bolivia before? I've always been curious as to what it's like.
I am interested in what Aqua de Vida is like (Maple Liquor). I love maple. I want to try to acquire some, but it's so expensive!
Jameson, ginger ale, bitters
Guh. I'm so bored. I could go to bed and not sleep. I could have another guinness and not make it to work at 7 tomorrow---Shit. Today.
I think I have an espresso love left.
Awww, hell naw. Iced coffee and crown!!! To the kitchen...
I love Guinness! Goes down easy, nice and rich.
I always liked it, then we went to Ireland last December. Now I can't get enough. Problem is, its sooooo much different over there. Especially in Dublin. You wouldn't believe it til you tried it, but its a totally different animal in the states. The closest facsimile I've found here is the widget can, believe it or not.
Travel to Ireland and drink Guinness from the source! I'll keep at least one eye out for the widget can until I raise a few thousand dollars of disposable income.
The tour at St. James' Gate is pretty cool. Super touristy but not bad. At the end, everybody gets a pint at the gravity bar at the top floor of the building. 360 degree views over all of Dublin. Seriously though, I had it for breakfast over there. Everybody does! Not only does a keg last days here where there it lasts only hours, but they send reps all over the country to make sure pubs have their poop in order. Oh, and probably the biggest thing; they use nitrogen as an initiator to get the head right. I don't know a bar in the states that peddles enough Guinness to bother with nitrogen; they just pressurize it the same as any other beer. When its right though, the head is about as thick as whipped cream and ten times more delicious.
Its funny you mention it though; I just saw an ad last week for 6 nights/7 days with airfare, ridiculously nice hotel room (I know, we stayed there) and rental car for less than $700 a person. It is on the other side of the island from Dublin, but the Guinness is just as good and the island really isn't that far across if you want to take the drive...
Murphy's in Ireland its where its at. Also I know a lot of bars that serve guinness with nitrogen systems.
An Evan Williams single barrel bourbon special from Binny's (yea, if you're from Chicagoland you know the glory that is binny's), and after that, everything in the fridge.
Only question, is what succulent meat do I pull from the freezer to grill tomorrow? Decisions, decisions....
My drinks were several heinekens and coronas. I drank them at the Saints/Jaguars preseason game. Not sure if it made it on TV, but Chad Henne did a pretty good job of moving the ball down the field. However, at one point he threw an interception (subsequently overruled), and then out of frustration fought with a Saints defensive lineman.
Bombay sapphire, i should have listened to jim rome and stopped after two, work will be rough tomorrow
Raspberry vodka with Mt. Dew Voltage. Delicious, and drunk, playing xbox with a high school friend. Hell of a night.
Going to get a few hours of sleep before tomorrows event. If anyone in the Chicagoland area is free tomorrow morning, the Blackhawks autism benefit is at Seven Bridges Ice Arena is Woodridge. I will be skating in the 10:50 game, so come out and see some hockey and support a great cause.
Guinness at McCarthys in Lexington, KY
Draft es goooooood
Do the Right Thing is on Hbo2HD. Night complete....BOOM.
