OT: Freep Print Pages Now Feature Ads

Thought everyone should know: The Detroit Free Press now has advertisments on their print pages.

I guess we were successful enough in limiting their relevant pageviews that they had to invest in this new system.

I still don't miss them at all.  Besides, their business model is dying.  There is too much lard in their budget; like the A2 News, that lard will eventually make their structure collapse. It's become obvious that the "physical product" model isn't treating many newspapers very well anymore.  I'm guessing that most "newspapers" end up being "published" in a small office suite with most writers working on a "per piece" basis from home or their laptops.

In other words, they will be a lot like blogs, but they will try to keep the pretentious notion that they are the only "real" sources for "journalism" alive.

I never thought I would say this, but A2 dot com may end up being THE business model for newspapers soon.
