Thought everyone should know: The Detroit Free Press now has advertisments on their print pages.
I guess we were successful enough in limiting their relevant pageviews that they had to invest in this new system.
any freep content, ever!
Simple fix to the print pages containing ads: Never, ever, for any reason whatsoever, visit the website-that-shall-not-be-named.
Who would you represent first? The website that shall not be named or the Bama tree poisoner?
Ah yes the Freep, the newspaper that can forever go to hell. Clicking on their link is like stepping in dog shit.
The Detroit Free Press, now in favor of killing more trees!
Who has 2 thumbs and doesn't give a shit? maizenblue92.
They soooo read MGoBlog.
Three FAKES out of five.
I could see a scenario where the site-with-no-name was punched in the nose and bled profusely allover itself......
I still don't miss them at all. Besides, their business model is dying. There is too much lard in their budget; like the A2 News, that lard will eventually make their structure collapse. It's become obvious that the "physical product" model isn't treating many newspapers very well anymore. I'm guessing that most "newspapers" end up being "published" in a small office suite with most writers working on a "per piece" basis from home or their laptops.
In other words, they will be a lot like blogs, but they will try to keep the pretentious notion that they are the only "real" sources for "journalism" alive.
I never thought I would say this, but A2 dot com may end up being THE business model for newspapers soon.
