I am really at peace w/ the wings this year.  They battled to get to the playoffs and all the way to the 5 seed.  They won a game 7 on the road.  They played poorly at times to lose 3 straight by one goal when the refs made it even more difficult to win.  They came out and put an amazing performance together last night for the fans.  If they win on Sat. they will come back to a frenzied Joe Louis and if they lose they will have given their fans a great season finale at the Joe.  Second to Michigan football, the Red Wings give me that great feeling that only sports can do.  Hopefully we will continue to witness history.  Go Wings!!!

I really like that commercial. And I agree with what you said about the wings. Can't win it all every year, and in an "off" year, they really did accomplish a lot with a lot of young players.

I will also not be disappointed by anything that happens from here on out...   BUT, can you imagine what woudl happen if the Wings could swipe the next one in SJ.  Everyone would be talking about the San Jose choke jobs that have been thier playoff reality over the last several years.  They will be bombarded with questions about all thier playoff demons..  over and over and over again..  that is the kind of thing that can snowball....

I agree. I think the wings not getting swept and showing what they are capable of instantly made the off season way more tolerable.  The way I see it, they get the win on Sat. and there is a huge momentum swing as the Wings bring it back home for the potential equalizer.

Everyone's trying to throw this win under the rug as if it's just a formality before SJ finishes us off tomorrow night, but I'm not so sure. As you said, if there's a potential combo for a 3-0 meltdown it would be between two teams like San Jose and Detroit. The perennial chokers and perhaps the most experienced team left in the playoffs. I don't think it's crazy to say that SJ needs to put it away tomorrow night or they might be the ones in trouble.

If they win the next one in SJ then all bets are off. It still will be an uphill battle, but it will put some doubt in SJ's mind.

but the reffing has been a joke in this series and it could easily be 2-2 at this point.  That said, the Sharks are much tougher than years past and having a rookie goalie is finally catching up to us.  Win on Saturday in SJ and its a series again.
