OT- Foster article on throwing octopi

Submitted by Foreverjian on

I don't always agree with what Terry Foster says, but I really found myself liking this article and agree that this sentiment needs to be spread.  Maybe Betman is trying to make the NHL more like the NBA where tradition is rarely associated.  Im not much of a baseball fan, but as much as I dont care about the sport, the tradition keeps me drawn to it, and this is what I wish the NHL would realize.

I'm going to most likely be at a second round game if the wings make it.

Foster can be a nut sometimes but I really like this article. He doesn't touch on the most ridiculous part of the reasoning - that the octopus gets on the ice and makes it dangerous for players - but he makes a strong enough argument without it.

Bettman sucks. Playing in the Western Conference sucks. Still, the Red Wings march on. Stanley Cup 11 in 2011!

"The Wings are like the NHL's Cinderella. They're a lovely shining jewel that has to scrub floors and make beds while the ugly stepsisters benefit."

Could not be a truer statement. Fuck off Bettman!

Foster is the worst columnist in town. He's Derp Sharp light. "Gary Bettman is an idiot" is the easiest column a sportswriter can do. That's low hanging fruit.
