Skaro is a little bit of the alien planet where where kale come from. Kaleds were one of two humanoid races which originally inhabited the planet.  The other race died of because of the kale and a failure to heal a little bit of a boo boo.  They were meat eaters apparently.

So I'm confused. Are bowties still cool?

Not sure I've completely warmed up to Peter Capaldi yet, although I am happy for the change. Interesting dynamic he has going with Clara. Then again, he is supposed to be pretty gruff. I have to say, though, that the most recent episode was a bit frustrating.

My wife hasn't come around yet on the new Doctor, but I like Capaldi. Seems like that's the trend (women dislike vs men liking). I like a less whimsical Doctor for a change and one that doesn't view life as so precious like the previous 2 or 3. I'm excited to see what they do with a darker Doctor. I do find his Scottish accent difficult to understand at times though.

I'm ok with the accent. I actually never even thought about it until I started reading articles about how difficult it was to understand.

I do like the darker tone of the Doctor, which came out quite a bit more with David Tennant than it did with Matt Smith. David Tennant's Doctor could be scary vindictive.

I read the story and I still don't get why he's ineligible.  Here's what ESPN said:

Sources told ESPN the issue stems from Bolden leaving Australia after his senior season had already begun to attend Findlay Prep in Las Vegas. Bolden left Findlay in December and finished at Brewster Academy in New Hampshire.

Why would that disqualify him?

That's what it looks like the problem is.  Most places require a year.

I have no idea why you'd have to be a resident in a US state, though, to play for a college.

/shot in the dark.

//I'm curious now, too.

Edit: just read four articles.  None of them cleared it up.

The ESPN video didn't either, but the problem seems to be the move from Austrailia to the first school looked suspicious.

That's the best I came up with.

How come I don't really remember this Jonah Bolden fellow being someone that was ever in very serious consideration for landing in Ann Arbor. Seems very distantly OT but what the heck right. We're still under a week from a firm fisking and preparing for a worthless game tomorrow. WTF.

I thought this post was informative and interesting, and I remember quite well who John Bolden is.  But maybe it's because my fandom resides for the most part in the world of basketball these days.  It's so much more pleasant.
