OT - Five Thirty Eight Star Wars Data
Not Nate Silver and just some fun polling data on Star Wars stuff for those of us from a certain generation (along with guys 1 generation after) via Five Thirty Eight.
Like the writer, I was taken back by the relative low % of people who have seen 'A New Hope' (kids these days! get off my lawn!). As is generally accepted 'The Empire Strikes Back' is seen as the best movie
The favorable unfavorable ratings were fun, and not shockingly Jar Jar Binks took the bottom slot. The Washington Post jumped on this and noted Darth Vader had better favorables than any 2016 presidential candidate. Funny comment
None of the 2016 hopefuls is polling higher than Darth Vader. You'll recall that Vader chopped off his son's arm and blew up an entire planet, but evidently in the eyes of the American public these are minor sins compared to Benghazi, Bridgegate and Gov. Rick Perry's hipster glasses. These numbers suggest that if "Star Wars" were real and Darth Vader decided to enter the 2016 presidential race, he'd be the immediate front-runner.
As a Boba Fett fan I was shocked at his low rating....but still a front runner if he ran for Prez.
And last but not least there was a "Who Shot First? - Han or Greedo" question. A point of contention.
Of course Colbert also had a funny riff on this as well.

Hand, not arm. And technically Grand Moff Tarkin blew up Alderaan, not Darth Vader.
I'll embed the Colbert piece....it's hilarious....
So, now I'm trying to figure out if my youngest daughter's Father's Day gift to me, a Darth Vader bobble head that says "Galaxy's Best Father," wasn't intended to be ironic. I guess I'll have to ask her.
