OT: Fight night: Canelo v. Khan

Submitted by gopoohgo on

The middleweight champ v. one of the better welterweights fighting at a catch weight of 155.

Canelo should wipe the floor with Khan.  Too big, too much power for Khan.

Betting Canelo coasts through a few more fights before trying to tackle triple G.

Canelo/GGG will happen cinco de mayo weekend 2017 imho. Watching what GGG did to Lemieux then seeing what Lemieux did today makes me appreciate GGG more.

Canelo is a legitimate top ten P4P fighter; expect him to obliterate Khan.

As much as I think Canelo should walk through Khan, Canelo tends to struggle with guys who can really move in the ring. Canelo never seems to do a good job of cutting off the ring and getting guys in tight quarters where he does his best work. If Canelo allows Khan to use his hand speed and length while moving around the outside Canelo could end up looking a lot of rounds.

Prediction: Canelo (while behind on points) via stoppage in 10th round.

I'm pretty sure they waited to show the replay. I think there was serious concern that dude was dead or comatose. They didn't show it again until he finally started moving.

But I am a bit concerned with his speed and movement.  IMO he was clearly losing the fight before the KO.  He needs to cut the ring better, jab more and mix it up with combinations. GGG is a much more complete fighter right now.

of the fight because Canelonwould prefer to have a lot of big pay days at the top (like Mayweather) and will try to avoid a threat like GGG if he can.

These "top" fighters can't have it both ways...they claim GGG doesn't bring enough to the table because he hasn't fought anybody....but he hasn't fought anybody because these top fighters do not want a piece of GGG.

Hope Canelo/GGG happens...Can't wait to see GGG knock him out. That said...that was a hell of a lunch last night by Canelo.

You have to give Khan credit for being fearless, but it was a dumb decision for him to do this fight. He and his glass chin jumped up two weight classes to fight a dude who was known as one of the hardest hitters in the division. I admire his moxie, but I think he's deluded by his own hype.
