OT: Faygo Redpop soon to be a Slurpee flavor. What flavor would you like?

Submitted by East German Judge on

Saw a DetNews story that Faygo Redpop will soon be a slurpee flavor at 300 Michigan and Ohio 7-Eleven stores.

Interesting factoid from the story - "Consumers in the Metro Detroit region quaff more Slurpees than in any other market in the nation, 7-Eleven officials said."

And as a prelude to the evening's "What are you drinking thread", are you glad Redpop is coming and what flavor/beverage needs to be made into a slurpee?

A Rock'n'Rye slurpee would have the potential to be awesome, I would think. The selfish me would want to at least taste the slurpee version of Faygo Cream Soda, although my fear is that it would cause an amplified sugar high, much worse than the one I get from the normal pop offering from Faygo. That, and whenever I get Faygo at a convenience store, the cream soda seems to be the least cold offering - maybe it is just that store and just that dude who obviously hates working that cooler though.

Came in just to say this.  There's a difference between those familiar with Faygo, and those intimately familiar with the deliciousness that is Rock n' Rye.  The latter is a group I'd be happy to call my true Michigander brothers and sisters.

The 7-Eleven at 9479 Newburgh Rd in Livonia, MI has long experimented with Slurpee flavors with local lean.  They were the test store for the Vernors Slurpee and they have LONG had the Rock and Rye Slurpee, which is just phenomenal.

I'm having a "Made with Real Sugar" wild cherry Pepsi for lunch. Tastes pretty much like regular Cherry Pepsi. Real sugar Coca-Cola on the other hand, has a noticable difference in taste.

A 'Tussin flavored purple Slurpee would be good to see.  Kind of like the candy cigarettes of days gone by, it could give the next generation important practice.

is one of the things I missed most when I moved to NC from Michigan in 1987.  Only about 2 years ago did Faygo finally make it to a grocery store in my area.  First 3 times I saw it in the grocery store down here, I bought every Faygo Cream Soda on the shelf.

We used to be able to get it, the pop not the slurpee, down here at Family Dollar, but they discontinued it, and I have to live without my Rock N Rye fix. When I contacted the company about where to find it in Florida, all I got was a list of stores that do not exist in my area, and when I contacted them again about where the closest place to me that carries it is, they just blew me off. I'll just have to live with mixing Creme Soda with Strawberry Crush.

Didn't they make Vernors slurpees for a while? I was out of state when this happened. Now I'm going to find a 7/11 this afternoon and look for a Vernors slurpee. THANKS
