Past midnight? NYPD.
Any other time though, Anthony's Gourmet is pretty amazing.
Do you live in Louisiana, or is your handle potty humor as well?
Everywhere you go, go poo.
Lived in St. Louis and now don't want to change my handle, despite not being in St. Louis anymore. Should I have used more foresight? Probably. Did I? No.
For me past midnight (drunk), gotta go with Backroom
Carryout special as well - extra cheese + garlic break accompanied by Cherry Coke.
Most underrated pizza (and therefore deal) on campus.
I always enjoyed a Bell's pizza if for nothing else than to have a pizza and myself delivered to north campus late night after a night on the town.
"Play hard and with great effort"
is terrible, in my opinion. I really think backroom is the way to go, even when you're completely sober at 3pm. Bell's, though, too is really good.
I've got a particular soft spot for bells as I had the good fortune to run into Sam Sword after our 97 victory over OSU. the least I could do was treat him to a meatball sub and exchange several high fives and 'Woooos!'
highlight of my bell's career.
"Play hard and with great effort"
Wait you paid for a former Michigan player’s meal? We know what the what’s going to be the headline on the freep tomorrow. Anonymous source confirms at least 10 players were paid for all meals in the 1997 season.
Pizza House Meat Lover's Deep Dish Pizza
It's new, but South U pizza is the best cheap pizza on campus. For those who haven't tried it, I suggest you do. It blows NYPD and Backroom out of the water.

Good call jc, I was just about to post that myself!
Faz is the man! At a church function, we ordered from him, and he came in and hung out with us for like half an hour. So friendly, that man.
no joke here...not sure if it's open past midnight but definitely delicious
here to second the Faz.
"Conserve your precious hatred for the game."- Apu
Faz is awesome...his pizza is not.
Faz, who was just as great as everyone here says, passed away a number of years ago now.
Yeah, Faz passed away. If I recall correctly, there was a thread about Faz a couple of years ago, and his nephew posted on here confirming his passing and thanking everyone for the well-wishes.
Cottage Inn Spicy Polynesian any time of day
Game. Set. Match.
Deep Dish. pepperoni and mushroom. Ham and pineapple is good too. Wash it down with a cool Hacker-Pschorr. Damn now I am hungry!

But the OP mirrors my tastes pretty well. I'll throw in as chain pizza goes, I like Marcos, when across town or office delivery.

In my first year and a half I have done a horrible job getting around to the local eateries...
I have, however, been to Pizza Bob's following a hockey game, and that was some pretty good pizza.

I've been to Pizza Bob's many times...their pizza is decent (they often burn the hell out of the bottom) but their shakes are the best on campus. My favorites are raspberry-vanilla or hot fudge.

Yep. It's me, that annoying kid from out east that whines about the quality of pizza in the midwest. No pizza really compares to a legitimate NY slice, but when push comes to shove I will order from Pizza Pino. The buffalo chicken pizza is, to this day, the best I've had in this town. It's out of the way, though, so walking isn't an option unless you want to trek down Liberty past Main.
If we're talking inebriated eats, then it's Back Room. Unless I'm on the way back from Skeeps, as NYPD will fall directly in my path.

...and you put Buffalo Chicken on it? ;-)
Besides, we all know Chicago-style is better.

+1 just for the buffalo chicken addition...I can't tell you how many times I've dropped $10 on late night specials just to add the buffalo chicken.

Did the NYPD near Skeeps shut down? There used to be one somewhere near where I lived -- in between Liberty and South U... but then again I haven't been back in AA in around 3 years.
The NYPD under UTowers closed. It's now a Japanese restaurant. The NYPD on East William is still open.

You're from out east and you go to skeeps.
I'm just going to end it there.
I have to say, I lived in New York and Chicago and while Ann Arbor can't hold a candle to either (though that never stopped me from eating it), Chicago style is far superior to NYC in the pizza department. East coasters, neg away!
You are out of your mind. Not even comparable. They're barely even the same type of food.
You say you lived in NY...what are your credentials? (Credentials = pizzeria's you've eaten at.)
Touchdown Michigan!
Lambardi's, Grimaldi's, Johns, as well as a number of other hole in the wall places I can't remember. I never got to DiFara's so maybe I missed the #1 joint in city. Like I said, those places were absolutely delicious and I have no complaints about them.
That being said I'd take a pie from Giordano's, Gino's and Lou's in Chicago over any of the places I went to in NYC. Even the next level down of Chicago's Pizza could stand toe to toe with many of the NYC places.
However, it is tough to compare since they're so different. To each his own.
I have yet to find Chicago pizza that comes anywhere close to the pizza I had in Brooklyn years ago...of course, maybe my memories of that pizza are tainted by large amounts of alcohol, but...
And I really hate getting ribbed for asking pizza establishments in Chicago to pie-cut my pizza. Not a fan of square-shaped pieces of pizza.
Crab cakes and football! That is what Maryland DOES!
here in Chicago. But the "real" deep dish pizzas are ALWAYS cut like a pie and are never square shaped.
Go to Giordano's or Lou Malnati's or Gino's East (they are all different I personally prefer Giordano's).
"A house divided against itself cannot stand"
I liked Giordano's, and chicago style is good, but it's different, and for me, too much.
If you're ever in NY, go to Di Fara's (the owner makes every pizza, made to order.
There's obviously also Lombardi's (America's first Pizzeria)
Or Grimaldi's.
Pizza so good, it'll make a guppy wanna smack a whale.
Touchdown Michigan!
I'm relieved somebody else pointed out the obvious. I was shocked when I started reading this thread that this wasn't the consensus.
If we're talking late night, stumbling drunk, grab a few slices to tide you over on the walk home, then I think Backroom is the hands-down winner. I'm prepared to believe it's also delicious when you're sober, but I've never tried it in that condition.
papa romanos all corners pizza is the best in town. i would like to take this time to say that pizza house is shitty because they charge so much for toppings to offset the amount they spent decorating the place. waaaaaaaaaaaay too expensive for just better than average pizza
Soon to be the #1 fitness and training center in AA
I lived at Arbor Landings my senior year and used to get Little Porky's (on Dexter) barbecue chicken pizza all the time. Definitely the best I had in AA.
Cottage Inn, carryout special. Sausage.
