OT: Fantasy Football Start/Sit Em Thread

Submitted by GVSUGoBlue on

This week in fantasy I hold onto the #4 seed in my league. With 2 weeks left, I need to win both matchups.

I don't have a dilemma like I did last week but I do have some tough decisions (Bold indicates who I have starting right now):

Alfred Morris vs San Fran (ranked 4th vs RBs)
or
Jonas Gray vs Detroit (ranked 6th vs RBs)

and

Coby Fleener vs Jax (22nd vs TEs)
or
Martellus Bennett vs TB (14th vs TEs)

I also am monitoring Emmanuel Sanders because of the hit he took. He is listed as probable now but for some reason I am still nervous starting him when most of my players play at 1pm.

What are your tough decisions today?

EDIT: Did anyone else see the guy bomb an ESPN reporter this morning LIVE in Detroit yelling F*** her right in the p****? Most hilarious live TV thing I've seen. Link:

You're smart to sit Gray. He was late to a practice this week and may not see any touches. That's Bill B's rule. Also the expectation in Boston is a pass heavy game plan unlike at Indy.

I say keep what you have, Gray is unlikely to repeat that good of a performance. I have a question of my own:

Josh Gordon @ ATL (28th vs WRs)

or

Brandon Marshall vs TB (30th vs WRs)

Gordon could blow up and Marshall is probably the more reliable option.

Luckily I have both players and I'm starting them both. Just saying, the last time I sat Marshall he blew up against San Fran so I would always put him in the lineup. Gordon hasn't proven anything yet in a new offense.

Who on Earth is your other reciever or in your flex spot that this even a question? Gordon is a slightly riskier play because of the potential rust factor, but both of these guys are must plays.

sure, Gordan could be lights out... but we know Marshall is good.  plus I think the tampa chicago game could be a shoot out (I think mccown shines against his former team).

Marques Colston vs Ryan Matthews at flex. Bal @ NO and StL @ SD. I'm leaning to Colston because StL has been playing really well. PPR. I'm starting Morris even though I figure he's going to have rough sledding.

however,  New England excels at shutting down a teams favorite options so I think they will double, maybe triple, calvin all day.

I think both are bad plays as Revis will probably be on Tate, with the other DBs focusing on Calvin.

I think today is a big day for check downs to the running backs.

I'm in last place, and I'm starting Mark Sanchez today. I'm also starting Theo Riddick.

Yep

I'm finding a lot of joy in the misery of the sports world. I've gotten more laughs the last couple of days then I have in quite a while.

Joique bell vs NE or Bishop Sankey @ Phi

1 pt PPR

I already have Golden Tate in my lineup. Plus I think NE blows out Det...so, not much running the ball...no to Joique?

I hate Sankey...I hate Tenn...but I don't have many options

I've got

WR:  Jarvis Landry (@Den) OR Allen Hurns (vs Ind) - Hurns is a huge boom or bust type guy, but Indiana has been giving up tons of points to WRs.  Hurns is obviously the riskier option here, but could pay off.  This is a 0.5 PPR league.

Flex:  Chris Ivory (@Buf) OR Pierre Thomas (vs Bal) OR Charles Sims (@Chi) - Ivory has been pretty consistently putting up ~10 pts per game, but is facing a stout Buffalo defense.  Pierre Thomas is just coming off of injury but has the potential to put up huge points if healthy.  Sims is also coming back from injury and hasn't really proven anything yet, but is going up against a terrible Chicago team.

What say you?

I'd avoid Denver's secondary and pick Hurns. I don't see the Dolphins scoring a lot of points today. I'd also pick Ivory because he is going to get the most touches out of those 3 options. The game will be indoor so expect more points.

Thanks for the input.  Let me throw a third option at you for WR - Greg Jennings.  He's got 10 or more points 3 of the last 4 games and is going up against Green Bay.  He is very consistent but doesn't have a lot of upside.   He could get a few garbage time plays when the game gets ugly though.

You've almost convinced me to go with Hurns, but I thought I'd throw Greg in the mix as well.

Vincent Jackson, Golden Tate, and Fred Jackson sitting. My starters are Alshon Jefrey, Mike Evans, Sammy watkins, Demarco Murray, Eddie Lacy. Should I switch any of them?

Denard, and it's not even a question. Over the past month, he is one of the top RBs and a must start. That and Gerhart is not stealing any meaningful carries from him. On the other hand, McKinnon routinely has his potential goaline touches vultured.

Mckinnon sees more catches per game and also has a better matchup than Denard does. Indy's D tends to play better at home. I'd go with McKinnon. You never what what is going to happen in garbage time though.
