OT - Fantasy Football Gloating / Dejection Thread

I'm sure a lot of people just had the championship for their fantasy teams this week. Since the board is going to be quiet, how did you do? What was your greatest triumph? Biggest mistake? etc.

This is the first year I won my league, hence making this thread to gloat, but I also want wisdom for next year.

The Core of my team (12 team league):

-Megatron - 1st Round

-AJ Green - 2nd Round

-AP / Matt Ryan - 3rd/4th Round (I forget which right now)

-Shonne Gree and James Jones were my main 2nd RB and 3rd WR

My brother started off 2-7 and rode AP to sneak into the playoffs. He was also a 3rd round pick in our league which was obviously the biggest steal of the draft. Never doubt AP

Everyone knows tiebreakers are settled by a long series of tests to see who is physically, mentally, and emotionally the more deserving champion of the league.

My league is dumb so that game was just to get into the championship which is next week, but losing that game cost me 150-200 dollars at the year end payout.

Scored the 4th highest point total for a week in the season and lost by 6 to the third highest.

I had the 3rd highest scoring team in my league and ended up 4-10, good for 2nd to last. I faced the highest scoring team in the league 9 out of 14 weeks. Had I made the playoffs, I would have won (had the highest score of any team in all 3 playoff rounds). The fantasy Gods were out to get me after winning 2 out of 3 years. Oh yeah, I had MJD, McGahee, & Benson to start the year (all injured). I still woulda/coulda won. Made some key adds (Bryce Brown, Danario Alexander) and still lost though. To top it off, I nearly made the playoffs despite being down 31 with only Bryce Brown to play. He posts 32.5 pts to put me ahead with no one left to play for me or my opponent. However, Brown fumbles at the end of the game to lose 3 points, which puts me behind, and one win short of the playoffs. That combined with Drew Brees throwing 5 picks and breaking his consecutive games with a TD streak. I knew the Gods were against me. I gloated too damn much in the offseason. Sad Sad Sad.

It was a 12 team league with 4 teams that had 2 or fewer losses, and one team that went winless. So there was a big pile of mediocre teams in the middle. There was a whole mess of teams that had 4 or 5 wins in the last week, and one team was going to get the last spot (6 seed). I was playing one of the 5 win teams, and I would have won the tiebreaker with anyone because I had the 3rd highest scoring team. Thanks to Brown's fumble, I got loss #10 instead of win #5 ... and that allowed my opponent to get win #6 & get in. It was also the difference of me getting tied for 2nd to last, instead of being #6. Which makes it look even worse.

I totally kicked my fantasy Fantasy League in the ass.  I say 'fantasy' Fantasy League because I made up my Fantasy League in my mind.  My team consisted of 2007 Tom Brady and Randy Moss, 2012 Calvin Johnson, 1997 Barry Sanders, and the '85 Bears defense.

We do an auction keeper league. First time I've won this particular league in its 5 year existence.

We kept jordy Nelson, Hernandez and Fred Jackson (ya that didn't go so well)

Gambled on AP, paid off all year until yesterday. Stole Doug Martin in the auction

We rode Roddy white, Torrey smith, and once jordy went down danario Alexander as the wide receivers.

And Peyton manning's still got it.

Very proud, mostly for getting the trophy, but our additional rewards are a hefty some of cash and a one year subscription to beer of the month club. Yesterday was a good day

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get into a land war with Asia. But only slightly less well known is this: never go in against a Sicilian, when death is on the line!

Big win yesterday for The MiracleMonkeys. We roared through the regular season with and seemed destined from the beginning of the season. Rob Gronkowski's injury made a championship seem unlikely, but we lucked out with match ups to end the season.

First pick - Tom Brady
Second -Rob Gronkowski
Third - Jamaal Charles
Fourth - Brandon Marshall
Fifth - Frank Gore
Sixth - Marques Colston

We actually run it as two separate conferences that draft separately. There's not any cross conference play until the championship. The team I faced in the championship also had Tom Brady, but he was the only player we had in common.

As you can see, it's more like two leagues that meet for a championship.

I was away for the draft because it was during the Michigan vs Alabama game. Auto-pick got me Larry Fitzgerald in the first round. I was still able to ride the waiver wire to the finals thanks to kapernick and Alfred Morris only to lose by 1 point thanks to the Seattle defense getting a field goal block touchdown.

Other notes, Peyton Manning is still a great QB and was a nice 6th round steal. There are some elite wide recievers but you can always find really good free agents mid way through the season. Elite tight ends are good to have but should not be taken in the early rounds (I  made that mistake).

I didnt do so hot in the league I made for this board, but I did do okay in my famly league.  I lost in the finals yesterday but put up 125 points so oh well.

In that league I got a lot of value in later picks: I drafted 9th and took Chris Johnson (meh), Matt Stafford in the 2nd (meh), Andre Johnson in the 3rd , AP in the 4th was by far the steal of the draft, and I got CJ Spiller, Stevan Ridley, Frank Gore and Randall Cobb all with later round picks.  I traded Stafford and Gore for Aaron Rodgers after week 2, which was huge for me.  Overall I am fine with the season, even though I seem to make it to the championship game and lose every year.
