OT- Even Stanfords Offense tackles better

So not entirely sure how to embed this and I searched and didnt see it posted. This is not intended as a "Harbaugh coaches even his offensive players better on defense that RR/GERG" just merely a teeth-rattling hit that might have changed the games momentum. This is how you tackle in D1 football. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RF9PFJI_t5I&feature=player_embedded#!

And couldn't believe that it was Luck when it happened.  I thought for some reason a FB was in the backfield or something.  He absolutely rocked him.  It would have been cool if they recovered the fumble too, so that the hit actually made a difference.

Luck must have played on the other side of the ball in high school. That was a top notch hit. Certainly sends a strong message to everyone on the field.

I think it's good no one has tuaght Denard how to tackle. His speed combined with proper technique would likely cause him to pass directly through the opposing player, resulting in that player's instant vapoization and Denard's suspension for manslaughter.

Nice hit.  Luck is a big guy - 6'3" and 215lb - so that DB wasn't going to scare him at all.  Have to give him credit for covering up for his teammate a bit there.

I was 46 rows up when Gordon came up an put a lick on the RB yesterday early in the 2nd.  It was loud.  I got home and watched it about 20 times, I am excited to see him grow up.

Maybe I'm just weird, but I'm not getting all the "Cam Gordon is the new Stevie Brown" angst.

I thought he made some good reads and brought the wood with little regard for his own safety, even when he was giving up 30 pounds to Bell. At this point, Gordon's main issues are getting lower and wrapping up, but I think those won't be awful to fix given his basically aggressive nature.

Cam had a chance to lay a Ernest Shazor/Purdue 2004-like hit on the 34 yard pass that MSU completed to the backup TE in the 1st quarter.  But he took the wrong angle, so all he could lay was a one-hand tag.

He's young, but he's been out of position on a lot of big plays this year.

The USC tackle on the Stanford player that caused the first fumble was helmet to helmet. Back in the day, we called that "spearing" and it would get you 15 yards. He dropped his head and hit the Stanford player with the crown of the helmet. He's lucky he can walk after a hit like that. Luck was looking up and hit the SC player in the numbers. The top of his helmet may have got the SC player in the chin, but still it's proper form.

The only reason you started this thread is so you show what we are missing out on by having RR instead of Harbaugh as our coach.  There are plenty of other teams you could have chosen to demonstrate good tackling but it just so happened to be Harbaugh...

I do not want our QBs to be taught helmet to helmet. USC #24 was left immobile on the ground for quite awhile. Not sure Luck was feeling much better. Looked awesome and caused a second fumble..... but risky.

It wasn't really helmet to helmet, Luck put his facemask into the guy's numbers but the guy's head was down so he got a bit of the facemask with the top part of his helmet. He also looked to wrap up. It was a good hit and were it not for a lucky bounce it could have gotten his team posession back.

Also, the kid wasn't really immobile so much as crading the ball he fumbled and had kicked back to him miraculously.
