Given Ronaldo's vocal petulance over the course of this Euro (blame everyone but himself for the lackluster results), I'm pulling for Hungary.

And Ibrahimovic makes watching Sweden a treat.  Like watching Portugal (a star-led team), but with 100% less douchiness.  (Well, maybe 80%.)  When Ibrahimvovic retires, I think he'd make an excellent Dread Pirate Roberts, but in the meantime his club career has been fantastic and I'd love for him to lead his national team to the knockout stage.

like Messi did vs the US yesterday. Iceland is remarkable since the country has only 330,000 people!  Hungary revolutionized soccer in the 1950's with the Magical Magyars who invented total football. The last 30+ years have been pitifully bad winning absolutely nothing. Sort of the Cleveland story soccer. Ironic because Cleveland has the major concentration of Hungarians in the US.

And yes Kiraly's pants and general look make him appear as if he was dragged out of a Sunday O40 beer league.

If these scores hold, I believe the standings will be Hungary 1st, Portugal 2nd, Iceland 3rd and Austria last, with the first three qualifying.  Portugal would get the nod over Iceland due to total goals scored.  Portugal and England would then play each other.

I think it might stand.  For Hungary, there is no meaningful difference between winning and tying, so they may as well park the bus for the last few minutes.

So it’s Ireland vs Italy for what feels like the millionth time. Ireland needs a win, which means they will likely draw. So off I go to a Republican (Irish Republican) sympathetic bar to watch this.  God I hope there will be singing.
