OT: ESPN Mag + Insider deal
Hey y'all. Saw this deal online and figured I would post it on here in case anyone was looking to get Insider.
During checkout, enter promocode: "BLACKFRIDAY" and it will reduce the cost to $3.90 for a year subscription with the option to purchase 2 years. It says New Subscribers only.

for bad information, bad opinions, and unending hype?

Because it's sports and ESPN happens to be the biggest name in the business. I get quite a bit out of my insider subscription. You may not want to pay $4 for it, but some may.

I like their insider college basketball writers. Not a fan of the rest of the site, but that alone makes it worth a couple bucks a year to me.

Thanks OP for posting. I only subscribe when deals like this hit the street. It's been about 2 years since the last one.
The magazine is just awful, but $4 is worth it for the Insider stuff.

I did this once, very long ago. Ah, to be young...

you also used to read Playboy "for the articles?"

Relax. I wasn't making fun of anyone, that was just my way of saying I too once thought, "Wow, what a deal!", only to find myself thoroughly underwhelmed.

I was making a joke about "something you did once" and the Playboy joke popped in my head first...no disrespect to you or the OP.

I know it's only $4 for a year-long subscription, but even then I don't have the need for it. I have rarey ever needed to read an insider article on ESPN.

I got one of these for $1 last year. They auto-renew and there is no way to cancel, so be aware.
Also, I never logged into the insider thing and the magazine was articles that are free on the web.

You certainly can cancel at any time. Also, websites like Top Mags and Discount Mags don't auto-renew so you'd have nothing to worry about in the future.

No way to cancel is a little dramatic.....last time I did this, it was the same $1 deal and I just sent them an e-mail in the last month to stop my membership after the year was over. It took 30 seconds.

HOW DO I CANCEL MY INSIDER SUBSCRIPTION?
For the privacy and protection of your account, the account holder must call Customer Care at 1-888-549-ESPN (3776) between 8:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. EST to cancel an Insider membership. We apologize for any inconvenience the phone call creates. The phone call will take just a few minutes of your time.

I've had a subscription for years that I can't seem to stop.

I don't think I've opened the magazine in about a year. I use it strictly for the Insider. I should probably call ESPN and ask if there is electronic option.
November 25th, 2014 at 1:37 PM ^
I used to get these. They went straight from the mailbox to the recycle bin.
November 25th, 2014 at 2:11 PM ^
Insider is worth it for an article every once in a while. And the Mag is OK bathroom reading. C'mon you're talking about $4 for a YEAR. That's like a Quarter Pounder.

For TomVH posts on their board, but now that's gone and TVH is all over Twitter, the ESPN subscription is pointless.

I got this a couple years ago when someone posted a deal on here. Been getting the mag for 2 straight years now. I don't think I've ever actually read one. I've vaguely opened and looked inside and that's about it. ESPN is trash anymore.

Don't get why everyone here is always so negative about insider. Yea it's got some dud articles, but very how little you pay, there's also some good info it provides such as a boat load of fantasy material, Buster Onleys blog is always great, Keith law, good betting tips (will Harris). Magazine used to be crap back in the day but it's gotten a lot better.

I got the $2 deal last time someone posted it and it's been worth it. I never read the magazine though.
