OT: ESPN Insider Cancellation Reminder
A month ago, there was a thread giving a link to free ESPN Insider access for a month. Well, that month is over and since you are clearly satisfied with your subscription, ESPN will autorenew it tomorrow for $40. This is a reminder to unsubscribe if you are poor like me. Yeah, I love TomVH as much as the next guy, but its not quite $40 worth of love.
Problem is, ESPN makes impossible to unsubscribe online. To do so you must call 1-888-549-3776. Have your user name and the personal information you gave them handy, and they will cancel the autorenewal. Some overly friendly guy answers the phone and asks you a few questions, but its pretty painless overall. Just a pain in the ass that you can't do it online.
That is all. Happy unsubscribing!

The Visa has been on fire thanks to home renovations. $40 not spent would be nice.

How was the service...worth it?Thought about checking out on Tom, but never materialized

It's the internet. Information gets to you either instantly or 5 minutes later. One is free and one is not.

It was alright. I used it mostly for TomVH stuff and fantasy football advice. It was a very good source for both of those, but I just can't validate spending $40 a year on it. I'm sure for the next week or so I'm going to get pissed off everytime I click on something thats insider. I've seen some deals for like $15 a year before, and I would probably consider it in that case. I'm sure there are still free trials out there, give it a try as long as you remember to cancel in time!

Just order ESPN the Magazine from the cheapest retailer. i'm getting mine for $14.99 a year and all you need to do is go to espn.com, go to insider, punch in your acct. number, fill out some info and "Bingo" you have it for a year.
I always wondered if you went to your dentist office and just stole the account number from there subscription and tried to get insider that way. Somebody tell me if that works.

Dude I almost did that... But ended up just paying 5.95 at some website and got the mag a few weeks later. Worth a shot though.

Unless your dentist is a sports fan like me and already activated it... ;)

If you get the magazine then you are an "Insider," you just have to go on the site and register with your name, address, and subsc # (which is found next to your address on the cover).
FYI, the magazine can be found very cheap online. I got my annual subscription for $3.99. Much cheaper than the $40 they want just for an insider account.

Cheapest subscription i could find is $7.95. It changes every few days.

Last December I was able to purchase a subscription to the magazine for $3.99. I hate the magazine, but the insider access was worth it. There have been a grand total of two references to Michigan during the course of my subscription to the magazine; in one article (which listed taunts for many different college programs such as "liar, liar, vest on fire), they referred to Michigan Stadium as "The Big House of Disappointment." Also, right before the MSU game, they had a full page article featuring Hoke & how he had instantly turned the program around. They said that Denard Robinson is actually a vintage UM QB from the Bo days a la Rick Leach. It was actually a pretty good article.

But because I could care less about any other sport or team that is not University of Michigan, I have no use for the magazine.

Sorry. Is there a way to delete?
