OT; ESPN cuts Mark May from College Football Final
ESPN moved Mark May from College Football Final. Also from several outlets the new guys to replace Rece,Lou Holt and Mark May is Adnan Virk(Host) Danny Kanell and Joey Galloway. I guess ESPN want to go in a new direction for College Football Final.

Only if Galloway has a lifetime contract
During UM games he's horrible
During UM games he's horrible.
I know he is one of ours, but I agree with the general consensus here that as a color guy he is pretty bad. He hasn't done many of our games, but when I watch games with him I usually find multiple cringe worthy moments.
He did take off his Buckeye glasses for a bit this year when he argued OSU should not have jumped TCU.
The only time he's not horrible . . . he's wrong.

So ESPN really did break up Doofus and Dumbass. Long time coming--it died for me around the time it adopted the First Take formula of idiots yelling at each other with little real analysis of anything.
I guess my question then is that if we're going to get Joey Galloway on CFB Final, does that mean that we'll turning away at the point where he begins to talk about the things that he'd like to do to Brutus Buckeye that are likely still technically illegal in some states? Every time Urban Meyer is interviewed, will a stagehand have to produce a bottle of Eucerin and some latex gloves? How bad will this get?

But this means Galloway won't be a color commentator for OUR games. I see this as a win.
are you suggesting that M isnt going to be in the CF Playoffs? Actually I do not know the new guys but Mark May has always seemed to be an SEC proponent which I guess he has been right about that the past 10 years however about half the SEC teams that were in the final BCS championship game got there because of politics. The selection of the Meyer led gators over the maize and blue was an example then several years later the selection of Alabama to play LSU in the finals even though they didn't even win the SEC West division was the height of hypocrisy in the selection process. Anyway dumping Mark May, good move ESPN! Now if they would only get rid of Herby herbstreit.
Beat OSU's ass. That was something Michigan, couldn't do. So, the right call was made.
I would bet money Herbsterit had something to do with getting Galloway the job.

Davis, Tebow (I know, I know Eagles) and Palmer. I think Davis is pretty awesome, and has that Iconic voice. Tebow sounds corny on air, bus has a great sense of football knowledge and i enjoy listening to him.
Palmer is good and can be sometimes annoying but a head to head with Galloway, Palmer wins everytime.
Palmer>Galloway
Nice to see Adnan land on his feet after that whole Hae Min Lee thing.
I was like, FUCK YES. Then I read Joey Galloway and thought, no fuck no.
Can't say I'll be sad to say May go. I thought he was biased against Michigan. Nothing particularly comes to mind as to why so call it a gut feeling. But then Galloway is probably worse. I'll call this a push. In any case Galloway is not a good analyst so I suspect ESPN will reshuffle the deck again before too long.
I stopped watching that show so long ago. ESPN highlight shows suck. Everyone of them includes 20 minutes of actual highlights, which is about 30 secs per game. The other 40 minutes are their genius talking heads, that do absolute nothing but kill time. It's pathetic. I wish all American sports had a highlight show that is the same as the Epl. The premier league review show is 2 hours of highlights. Or about 10-15 min highlight packages per game. No talking heads "breaking down" game film. Just good old fashioned highlights. If they did that with college football alone I would be hyped. Even the Big ten network spends little time on actual highlights and the rest on Dinardo rants. It's unbearable.
ESPN just cannot let the game highlights speak for themselves and describe what occurred, NOOOOOOO, they have to tell us pertinent facts like how many times in history an SEC team played an ACC team and the total points scored totalled 59, or some other bullshit that just serves to make them seem like the smartest people in the room. Presented in a snarky, slick, egotistic presentation that just creates many cringeworthy and eye-rolling moments. On top of that is the typical excessive praise for their annointed stars...cannot do it.
and I thought May and Holtshtshs yelling at each other was entertaining more often than not, even if one or both was being an idiot. I generally liked May's commentary anyhow.
Davis was the straight guy trying to keep it from going completely off the rails, like Will Farrell's Alex Trebek dealing with Sean Connery and Burt Reynolds.
Galloway is awful, Kanell is blah, and I've never heard of Virk. Unless there's some sort of entertaining chemistry between the three, I have no reason to even think of watching them.
He only bashed on Notre Dame because if he hadn't been balancing out the ridiculous praise that Lou Holtz was heaping on the Irish, the show would have been cancelled years ago.
You got a chuckle out of me, take your imaginary internet point!
So happy to see Holth and May go. I liked Rece Davis though. Galloway sucks and Kanell is an idiot. I don't know the other guy. Mixed feelings. Actually I guess I don't care bc I didn't watch before bc of May and Holtz and now I still won't watch bc of Galloway.
May/Holtz were in my rare Steven A "change the channel at all costs" Smith territory for some time now. I can't believe they were kept around for so long. Rece was decent but probably tough to survive the new direction.
...has turned into the "Trash Joey Galloway POSBANG" thread.
Let me jump in...
Joey Galloway can blow me.

Thanks God! The folks down here complain about Mark May SO MUCH! They effectively ran Herbie out of town as well. I'm sure it won't take long for them to be pissed off about something the new crew says or does. Sooooooooo sensitive. So sensitive.
Met Brian Griese as he was in my office today, he said he wasn't interested in the gig, he prefers to call the games... pic!
brah, and a great pic. BTW, casual day? Or you get to dress like that daily?
Daily! We're an app based in Denver... app + Denver = hella casual.
App developer with a pic of Brian Griese at his workplace? That can only mean one thing: there's going to be a "Brian Griese App"!! Looking forward to seeing Griese on my smart phone soon. I'll report any bugs directly to you.
BTW, cool pic. That would've made my day.
Honestly, thanks for sharing it. All reports are that Griese is a regular guy, and this supports that notion.
Also interesting is that you're simultaneously rocking an Aladdin Sane t-shirt with a backward camo-cap. Choose your theme song: The Prettiest Star? Watch that Man? Panic in Detroit? (Panic In Detroit is available only if the meeting took place in Detroit. This isn't Nam, man.)
He was a very cool, down to earth guy. Was very interested in my work and seeing what I was creating this morning.

Dude's got the on-air personality of a rock. Maybe a cool rock, but still a rock
Galloway is a great choice
