What city is that? I actually thought it was kind of funny. But then again, I'm naïve and think that people are generally nice, and maybe they really are toasting us to have a good season. They aren't, but I'll pretend.

Columbus...
August 17th, 2010 at 10:37 PM ^
Yes, I'm pretty sure it was real and it was in Columbus.

Wow...if that's real, then Maker's is officially dead to me. There is enough good bourbon out there. BTW, has anyone tried Buffalo Trace yet? Not bad IME.
August 17th, 2010 at 11:50 PM ^
Buffalo Trace is very good and is typically less expensive than Maker's.
August 18th, 2010 at 7:55 AM ^
Try Bulleit. Good, good stuff, and not expensive.
(Edit: Not expensive compared to Maker's.)
August 17th, 2010 at 11:33 PM ^
That's it, I'm never buying that swill again.
Wild Turkey over here, almost dead. Will walk out and pick up some Bulleit next.
August 17th, 2010 at 11:07 PM ^
Gonna crack open the Woodford Reserve.
August 17th, 2010 at 10:01 PM ^
I already mentioned it in the prognosis thread, but I'm gulping on Captain and V8 Splash. I know it sounds horrible. It tastes even worse.
EDIT: POSBANGS ALL AROUND! They taste goooooooooooood!
EDIT 2:

Vodka and limeade. I'm on my third double. I'm going for 5!
August 17th, 2010 at 9:59 PM ^
It's simply a question of dosage.
August 17th, 2010 at 10:00 PM ^
Mine's an Old Fashioned with an extra splash of bitters.
August 17th, 2010 at 10:05 PM ^
Scotch and soda.
Don't mourn for the team. 1-toast for TW's health --- the rest becausem well drinking is fun. Stay thirsty friends.
August 17th, 2010 at 10:07 PM ^
becausem is a good word.
August 17th, 2010 at 10:09 PM ^
You'd think with all the practice I've had, I'd have gotten the hang of it by now.
August 17th, 2010 at 10:15 PM ^
I seriously like it. It implies fleeting self scrutiny.
August 17th, 2010 at 10:08 PM ^
Soda doesn't help.
August 17th, 2010 at 10:06 PM ^
I have an unopened bottle of Bacardi reserve in the liquor cabinet that my buddy (still in the Air Force) brought me from Puerto Rico....
I'm seriously considering breaking the seal tonight.
August 17th, 2010 at 10:23 PM ^
What better place than here. What better time than now.
August 17th, 2010 at 10:15 PM ^
Fortunately I had started before I clicked onto mgoblog. After it became a double...
August 17th, 2010 at 10:21 PM ^
Vodka tonic, no point in messing around
August 17th, 2010 at 10:26 PM ^
Dad always told me if I have a party and stay the f&^k away from the Johnnie Walker Blue Label my life will be spared... Well, nice knowing you!
August 17th, 2010 at 10:31 PM ^
Bad news calls for good booze. I'm drinking some Johnnie Walker Black and still seething a bit.
August 17th, 2010 at 10:32 PM ^
Must add Yamakazi 12 yr and chicago's finest herb in rolled form. Please make me forget. At least until tomorrow.
August 17th, 2010 at 10:35 PM ^
I'm out of hard stuff. It's mediocre Pennsylvania cabernet imbibed from a jelly jar tonight.
August 17th, 2010 at 10:36 PM ^
Move to cough syrup if you have to.
August 17th, 2010 at 10:38 PM ^
I definitely picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.
August 17th, 2010 at 10:43 PM ^
I'm waiting for someone to turn the lights back on and scream, "JUST KIDDING!"
August 17th, 2010 at 10:38 PM ^
two bottles of pinot grigio down, third cracked and fourth on ice. i don't trust myself to drink anything else, i might do some serious damage on the hard stuff. . . . .
GO BLUE
August 17th, 2010 at 10:38 PM ^
Sometimes in the morning I am petrified and can't move... awake I can not open my eyes......
August 17th, 2010 at 10:47 PM ^
champagne and reefer
August 17th, 2010 at 10:57 PM ^
Green tea, the Budda pose, and 72 hours of chanting "This, too, shall pass." It helped after the Illinois game last year.
Bud Light and breaking things has also helped after Iowa.
Or maybe Bud Light Lime and 72 hours of breaking things?
August 17th, 2010 at 11:09 PM ^
trying to cut costs instead of buying the usual sixer. Well, that backfired.
I have taken to Michelob Light after stumbling upon it. I think it was right at or under $20 in my backwoods town.
Up next, review new CPR video for panty/hottie mainline.
Torkelsoning down to some great tunes on CBN online. It seems to be helping.
August 17th, 2010 at 11:05 PM ^
I think Brian may be broken: http://twitter.com/mgoblog
August 17th, 2010 at 11:11 PM ^
Methinks you're right.
"ATTENTION TWITTER: I am drinking tea *and* an alcoholic substance I can no longer identify. If JT Floyd can multitask like this we're set."
August 17th, 2010 at 11:23 PM ^
I can't think of anyone who deserves it more. Let him be broken for a bit. Tomorrow we'll all wake up to this slogging, pointless existence, robbed once again of the small pleasure provided by a sport, and we will feel so much better.
August 17th, 2010 at 11:43 PM ^
I was supposed to move out tonight but i just started slamming rum when i got the news (YTN)

August 17th, 2010 at 11:52 PM ^
...With dreams and hopes of a "Hello" post tomorrow.

That I was much better able to absorb the punch to my nether regions after having consumed a Bell's Lager during the dinner hour. When I read about T-Wolf's injury, I was sufficiently mellowed by the pleasant brew to be at least a bit less circumspect about it.
Now I need to keep the buzz going.
