Eddie Lacy showed up to Packers camp with what looks to be the product of following the return of the twinkie across America.
Maybe the Tide has to roll because it's too fat to walk?
My chunky ass is reporting to camp effective immediately. Gotta get paid.
Hes almost in Jamarcus Russell territory
Eek. How much is up to? Somehow I wonder how professional athletes balloon like that considering their vast salaries and access to works class trainers and nutritionists. Not to mention their livelihood is based on staying in shape.
According to his player profile on NFL.com (HERE), he is 5'11" and 230 pounds. His last listing on the Alabama roster, as I recall, listed him at 6' even and 220 pounds. Assuming those are within earshot of being accurate, he couldn't have put on all that much. In any case, the photos that came out later were far more flattering, I believe.
True, but to be fair, he could have exchanged a good bit of that muscle for fat during that period. Either way, really funny
think mostly a bad picture......vine.co/v/hATgZPFa2LE
He's put on at least 25-30 pounds; even in that video.
He must have been reading "How To Have A Successful NFL Career" by Mike Williams.
Oh wow. I was expecting a little pudge, like Jerome Bettis, or not even that big. He looks like a freaking defensive tackle there.
For reference, here's another pic of him in a Packers uniform:
He's NOT at DL?
Worst camera angle ever? If you compare the OP's pic to the vine video, it's pretty clear that is just an awful angle.
Agree with you there. Classic perspctive problem--the left arm covers up the line of his back, making his torso look large. And the twist on his torso causes some unflattering curves of the body.
that the camera adds 10 LB's, but yeah he looked pretty fat in the OP's pic
it actually may be a trick picture. That may be a picture of a person in that number last year. That is not/cannot be Lacy.
It is absolutely Eddie Lacey. The tattoo on his left bicep is definitely the same tattoo he had when I saw him at Mini Camp, however seeing him in person this photo is really just a terrible picture because the guy looks good.
Yea, it's a combination of that and his gigantic legs, which every NFL RB will have.
He definitely hasn't been playing and excercising for the recommended 60 minutes a day.
You'd think he would have learned from Cam Newton's experience:
I think that's one of my favorite commercials. It gets me every time.
That's a big twinkie...
Well done, Egon.
He definitely did add some chunk, but with camp starting, the eventual stories that will be made about the picture I'm sure he'll drop most of that off before the season starts. No excuses with the nutrition and training staff he has access to. He can probably lose 3-4 pounds a day if they work him hard enough and let him know how much money he could miss out on right before he leaves the complex every day.
You can't really lose 3-4 pounds a day. That's impossible. 2-3 pounds a week maybe, but a lot of muscle would be lost.
Go from 169 to 160 in two days then? It's possible.
(Get it?). I'm sure others will have thoughts on this, but 9 pounds in two days for a wrestler is kind of standard, and it assumes a recovery time before competition. Most if not all of those nine pounds are water weight.
Assuming that picture is accurate, Mr. Lacy has more than just water to lose. I have no idea what the outer boundaries of possible are as far as daily fat loss, but he needs to lose more of the fat pounds than the water pounds. Water pounds just come back on when you chug a liter and a half of water immediately after the weigh in.
I gain 2-3 pounds from morning to evening without eating a thing. You sir, are no doctor! This will end well...
2-3 lbs per week is a lot for normal people, but with the amount of exercise that athletes do, he could probably double that if he really wanted/needed to. The other thing is that you aren't going to lose a lot of muscle if you eat enough protein to recover. I was able to lose 2lbs of fat per week while increasing my muscle mass and strength, so I'm sure that he would be able to do the same, if not more. It's just a matter of how train/eat.
That's not photoshopped?
He looks like he fries his fingernails before he chews them.
like someone gotta lay off Wisconsin cheese curds and summer shanty beer.
He wants his pants back!
There was an interesting article in how Katrina impacted him.
Was his OSS season roomie
Is running around in an Eddie Lacy jersey at Packers camp.
I think it's the picture and you guys are all overreacting.
...but he still looks overweight and huge.
good news, I'm definitely in training camp shape it seems, just waiting for my contract....
Well when you eat ND's lunch it takes a while to work off.
