OT: EA Sports Class Action re: NCAA/Madden/etc
I got an email the other day notifying me of a Class-Action lawsuit against EA Sports.
Supplemental Notice of Proposed Settlement of Class Action
United States Federal District Court for the Northern District of California
Did anyone else get this email? did you submit a claim? Do any lawyers know what this is about? I've bought NCAA 2011, 12, and 13 for Xbox, and according to this I could get about $20+ back per title up to 8 titles. Any thoughts?

I got something similar. Didn't open it, assuming it was phishing or something. Not sure $20 is worth the trouble for me.

Yeah, I got one too. I bought NCAA '10 or '11 (haven't played in a while so can't remember which one) and recently Madden '13. To be honest, I didn't pay much attention to the email.
EDIT: I just looked at it more closely, and since I have a PS3, I'd only get about $5. Not worth it.

I got this too. I haven't filed a claim, but I definitely wanted to look at it some more.
If I can get $20 back on all the Madden and NCAA football games I have bought, I'm all for that.
I couldn't figure out from the email what the lawsuit was actually about though. Something about distribution it sounded like. Any idea?

It only works for versions 2005-2012. For seventh generation games (i.e. XBOX 360, PS3, etc.), you would get about $5 and for sixth generation games (i.e. Gamecube, PS2, etc.), you would get about $20.

You've got your 100...no need to be in that big of a hurry. Enjoy the ride...

I got the e-mail and submitted a claim for 2005 NCAA (Gamecube), 2005 Madden (Gamecube), and 2006-2011 NCAA (XBOX 360). If all goes well, I will get $75.84.

This will result in college sports video games going away (not that they're that great anymore) and more random jersey numbers being sold. It isn't going to result in players getting paid.

Just curious btw, but how many of you have bought the Arena Football game? I didn't even know it existed...

I did, and it was actually pretty good, I thought.

It is LEGIT. Facebook also just had a class action lawsuit against them in case anyone got one of those emails as well

The FB lawsuit was filed by a Texas A&M grad, I think.

Ha, relevance? Would it be important to know what color his/her hair was as well?
Seriously, why was this included? Did I miss something?

I signed up. Sometimes these rewards can be bigger than expected and you can get a nice check. They weren't exactly asking for my bank account number. Just what editions I purchased (a lot) and the email address they already had.

I completely forgot about this until I received my check yesterday. Did anyone else get one?
