OT: Duolingo: A Cool Way to Learn a Language While Translating the Web
Duolingo is a pretty cool start-up out of Carnegie Mellon that helps users learn a language for free, while translating web pages in the process. Currently they only have Spanish, German and English for Spanish speakers, but they have French in beta, and Italian and Chinese coming soon.
I've been wanting to learn Spanish for a while now, so I started the Spanish program and I think it's going pretty well so far. On a slow Saturday, I figured that we 're a pretty well-educated bunch and that this would of interest/use to some people. And, hey, maybe you'll eventually get to translate MGoBlog for some non-English speaking kid in Spain.

Wow, this is real cool. I've always wanted to learn a language like Itailian, French, or Portugese. This may be a dumb question to some, but what does "Beta" mean when it says French (Beta)? Thanks guys.
So there might be some bugs, incorrect translations, unfinished parts, etc.
Oh, okay. Thanks.
if I can use it with my eight-year-old, who speaks a little Spanish and French and is. . . wait for it. . . enthusiastic about it!
for the post! On my way to brushing up for the CLEP test after taking 4 years of German in high school only to continue to a university that doesn't offer german.
