Tennessee is not recruiting well just because they got 18 dudes
OT: Drinking thread? Drinking thread
I guess it will be Tecate, though I need mexican food and an 80 degree night to make that taste like it's supposed to.
How is the Noble Rot? I presume it's got a sweetness to it. Never had it, myself.
It's pretty damn good. I'd describe it as the real champagne of beers.
Lagunitas Sucks. So damn good.
The fiance got me a twelve pack of 312 for Valentine's Day, so I'm having a couple of those while watching this unfortunate Wings game.
312 is just about my favorite, but it's got to be WARM out.
Not a bad brew...got a good women...wish mine would buy me a 12 pk of anything. Beer advocate .com didn't rate it well but I think they're tasty
beeradvocate.com is a bunch of dbaggy beer snobs that only like super-ultra-mega triple hoppy IPAs.
Dbaggy? You jel? :)
I definitely use beer advocate when selecting beers. I usually go with anything they rate over 70%, and if I'm still curious I look at high and low rankings.
I am a beer snob though...
I try not to venture out of the high 80's as we are in the golden age of quality beer. That said there are some beers that have an inexplicably low rating. I love the Blithering Idiot and its in the 60's. I think the "bros" gave Two Hearted a 74. Its handy though, just because of the statistical approach, and much better than Ratebeer, where everything is in the 90's.
last week. I think there is a Breakfast Stout waiting for me.
Hopslam and maybe a glass of Jameson later. Watching this Rising Stars All Star game. Only alternative is Georgetown - Cincy which is awful.
Hopslam is the best! Nice choice....only prob is 18.99 a sixer
$15.99 where I am.
I, too, am hitting the hopslam as well. I bought the last case at a Binny's in Chicago a few weeks ago and I'm my last 6-pack.
A hopslam is a great way to cap off a 3.5 mile run.
Anyone ever have Carlsberg Elaphant? If you haven't don't buy it....this shit may possibly be the worse beer ever!!! I muscled thru to give it a chance but nope finished it and it still sucked ...
No but I've had Tusker, a Kenyan beer and it was damn good.
Woodford Reserve, neat.
Still drinking up the Heineken.
Made backpacking stoves out of aluminum cans this week. They require Heineken cans, which are thicker and more durable than other kinds of pop/beer cans. So now I'm stuck drinking the rest of it. It's great in the Netherlands, but the stuff that they designate for export is watered-down and a disappointment. Somebody get me a Fat Tire?
Now that it is quiet for a moment around here, I am settling in with Paulaner Salvatore Double Bock and fine tuning my new HP laptop, which replaces a much honored eMachines desktop machine that survived a decade of upgrades and hardware lobotomies until Tuesday night.
I'm alternating between Hopslam and some Idjits I picked up in Philly this week. I had a Fantome saison this week which was out of this world. The Dogfish Head barleywine is out, Olde School. It is fantastic-15% and will knock you down. Had a few of those this week after gruelingly long days.
Hopslam, and for the first time, Evan Williams single barrel. Shout out to whoever on here told me about it. Sad, down to one case of Hopslam.
With a glass of Buffalo Trace.
Palo Santo Marron - oh my, it is tasty stuff. Someone mentioned it a couple of weeks ago, so I thought I'd give it a shot.
Belgian IPA, Kölsch and Robust Porter off the tap. Its gonna be a long night of short memories.
the last of my bells winter white.
Sold out everywhere around here.
I live ten minutes from the brewery. Ill pick you up some. Hold on.
Perfect. I'll see you in a bit.
...ahhh. Tastes so good after long day.
...I am almost at 100 MGo Points...going to have to keep drinking tonight!
heavy drinking will enhance your posting skills.
Onto Black Marlin Porter...delicious.
You buy this in michigan?
Epic Brewing if Salt Lake. Double Skulls a doppelbock. A little sweet, but 9%.
Entertain you? Oh I got a story for you.
My fiance and I live in an apartment complex and her best friend lives in the next building. They are avid watchers of the series Psych. Psych is doing a 6 hour "sleepover" marathon thing.
Once I saw it advertised I jokingly said, "Great, you will invite your friend, have a sleepover, and I'll be stuck cooking." Holy crap why did I ever open my mouth.
We are setting up an air mattress for the two of them to sleep on and watch the marathon. I will be making blueberry pancakes and sausage when the marathon is over at 6 am Central time. During the marathon there is chips and salsa, fruit smoothies, and I will be making Fries Quatro Queso Dos Frios.
For those who don't know, it is a hollowed out potatoe, stuffed with 4 different cheeses, fried, battered, then refried. (If you are curious, you are supposed to use two toothpics to keep the top of the potatoe sealed on for when it is stuffed and then fried). This is also the first time I will be making them.
I am currently drinking just regular shiner bock and do not think I bought enough beer.
I love Psych. I'm going through the series on Netflix now and just watched the episode with the Friest Quatro Queso Dos Frios yesterday.
I'm supremely jealous.
It's a good series and I appreciate their unique comedic style. Fast and constant with lots of inside jokes. 6 hours is a bit much for me for a comedy series, but I'll probably enjoy myself anyway.
I need better entertainment.
Tonight it is Three Philosophers and an Abbey Ale from Ommegang. Good night folks.
but I haz a sad that it is AB-Inbev now, just like Goose Island. I still drink both, but I feel like a scab when I do. NTTAWWBAS
… but there beer is still exceptional. Their Abbey Ale is one of my favorite beers and I hear their Brewery in New York is Phenomenal.
Ommegang is indeed tremendous. The Hennepin is great, I'm not much into quads but 3 philos is great and just about everything else they do is first class. I would have loved to have been in Cooperstown for the Wilco show at the brewery but we were about to have our second son and momma don't like being 9 months pregnant with her husband drunk on Ommegang 800 miles from her ob/gyn.
18 with a couple drops of water.
Settles the lamb chops I had a couple hours ago perfectly.
Geeze... The 10 is pure smoke! I love it, but I'm afraid to go anywhere near the 18. I'd like to try it before I commit to a bottle, but anywhere I go that has it (a rarity, to say the least) always wants nearly $20 a glass.
I do believe I will have some ardmore later, though.
XMas gift ever. Love my wife.
It's actually quite a bit smoother than the 10 or 12. I wouldn't enjoy drinking it everyday, can tell you that.
The second glass inspired me to make a fire on the patio, and contemplate beingness and nothingness whilst watching the lake effect snow come down by firelight.
but I'm down to one big glass and I'm saving it for something worth celebrating.
Drinking in Sedona Az. So many milfs
Literally snorted at that truth.
..and watch out b/c cougars bite!
This. ((but it's true))
I'm in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. The only place I could find that sold Hopslam would only sell me and my buddy 2 bottles each. It's too strong for him, so I got all 4 bottles. I've saved them for special occasions like recent big M bball games.
I met the girl who would become my wife 2 days before I started my current job nearly 7 years ago. This job has required heavy travel, including 6 months in New Mexico, 6 months in Florida, almost 2 years in ohio, and work here and there in 11 other states.
Today I got a new job 15 minutes from my new home with a Monday to Friday schedule that will allow me to be home every night with my wife, my dog, my two cats, and my eight chickens.
Tonight I drank my last Hopslam.
Don't click then.
Lame post. Happens too often.
Nelson. On draft. Best IPA ever. Except Pliney the Younger, which all these stinkin bars are holding out.
I was in San Deigo in nov...drove all over to buy some pliney. No success! I was bummed, so king of double IPAD is still hopslam at this point.
Had some sculpin, pretty good.
Dig from new Belgium, not bad, still no Fat Tire. Went to pick up some Hopslam today but just couldn't pay $16.99 for a sixer.
The last of my Hopslam or Smitten? I'm leaning toward Smitten. I can probably find some more of that at Biinny's.
Latitude 48 IPA, I'm not drinking alone when I'm on the Internet.
in this case that means a random glass or two of wine, a few Shocktop fall seasonals and maybe a glass of precious Patron Silver, but probably not.
Now I'm having some Glenlivet 12 on the rocks.
Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. My Aunt was nice enough to bring me some from Lexington.
simple tonight and just kicking back a Budweiser
Black and tans made with Guinness Extra Stout and Sam Adam's Cherry Wheat. So yummy, one of my favorites.
Beers of the now: Bells Winter White and Sanders Chocolate Stout.
Trying Bell's Lager of the Lakes for the first time. Pretty...Pretty...Pretty...Pretty good!
Have a 6'er(ok 5'er now) in my fridge. One of my favorite lagers.
Now just going with the Soco
Started out great with a Hopslam, but after a late night email from the boss it became vodka and soda and now just vodka...
from Munich. But my time zone is +6 from you all so I've started all over again. Circle of life.
On tap at the Village Lanes in Harrisville, MI. Only $8 for a 22 oz. pour. Gotta love Northern living!
I'm getting ready to go see a live performance by En Vogue. It will be hilariawesome.
Anyone watching UDetroit on ESPN2?
They are @ Valpo who is 10-2 in the conference. Detroit is 9-4.
Detroit is on a 9-0 run to cut a lead to 6 and Ray McCallum is lookiing good.
EDIT: Also, Maryland up 4 on Duke, but are starting to turn it over a bunch.
Ore Dock brew pub in Marquette, then to blackrocks brewery and finish by the fire in the woods and a few KBC widow makers. Back to Ann Arbor tomorrow.
Arm pulled. Trying to rid the basement fridge of beer anyway. I'm going to give beer a break and stick to tequila for the next few weeks once I clean out the beer. Thirsty dog raspberry ale to start with a Great Lakes Christmas ale to follow.
This is last nights drinking thread, so i'm drinking whatI had last night. EW single barrel and Hopslam
I am ususally a Bourbon guy, Elijah Craig 12 year is a favorite. But tonight I am enjoying a bottle of Scotch my wife bought for me, The Famous Grouse, I could see myself drinking a lot more Scotch since the Grouse is so very tasty
I guess Scotch causes double posts. My first ever...
