OT: Drinking thread? Drinking thread
I guess it will be Tecate, though I need mexican food and an 80 degree night to make that taste like it's supposed to.
How is the Noble Rot? I presume it's got a sweetness to it. Never had it, myself.
It's pretty damn good. I'd describe it as the real champagne of beers.
Lagunitas Sucks. So damn good.
The fiance got me a twelve pack of 312 for Valentine's Day, so I'm having a couple of those while watching this unfortunate Wings game.
312 is just about my favorite, but it's got to be WARM out.
Not a bad brew...got a good women...wish mine would buy me a 12 pk of anything. Beer advocate .com didn't rate it well but I think they're tasty
beeradvocate.com is a bunch of dbaggy beer snobs that only like super-ultra-mega triple hoppy IPAs.
Dbaggy? You jel? :)
I definitely use beer advocate when selecting beers. I usually go with anything they rate over 70%, and if I'm still curious I look at high and low rankings.
I am a beer snob though...
I try not to venture out of the high 80's as we are in the golden age of quality beer. That said there are some beers that have an inexplicably low rating. I love the Blithering Idiot and its in the 60's. I think the "bros" gave Two Hearted a 74. Its handy though, just because of the statistical approach, and much better than Ratebeer, where everything is in the 90's.
last week. I think there is a Breakfast Stout waiting for me.
Hopslam and maybe a glass of Jameson later. Watching this Rising Stars All Star game. Only alternative is Georgetown - Cincy which is awful.
Hopslam is the best! Nice choice....only prob is 18.99 a sixer
$15.99 where I am.
I, too, am hitting the hopslam as well. I bought the last case at a Binny's in Chicago a few weeks ago and I'm my last 6-pack.
A hopslam is a great way to cap off a 3.5 mile run.
Anyone ever have Carlsberg Elaphant? If you haven't don't buy it....this shit may possibly be the worse beer ever!!! I muscled thru to give it a chance but nope finished it and it still sucked ...
No but I've had Tusker, a Kenyan beer and it was damn good.
Woodford Reserve, neat.
Still drinking up the Heineken.
Made backpacking stoves out of aluminum cans this week. They require Heineken cans, which are thicker and more durable than other kinds of pop/beer cans. So now I'm stuck drinking the rest of it. It's great in the Netherlands, but the stuff that they designate for export is watered-down and a disappointment. Somebody get me a Fat Tire?
Now that it is quiet for a moment around here, I am settling in with Paulaner Salvatore Double Bock and fine tuning my new HP laptop, which replaces a much honored eMachines desktop machine that survived a decade of upgrades and hardware lobotomies until Tuesday night.
I'm alternating between Hopslam and some Idjits I picked up in Philly this week. I had a Fantome saison this week which was out of this world. The Dogfish Head barleywine is out, Olde School. It is fantastic-15% and will knock you down. Had a few of those this week after gruelingly long days.
Hopslam, and for the first time, Evan Williams single barrel. Shout out to whoever on here told me about it. Sad, down to one case of Hopslam.
With a glass of Buffalo Trace.
Palo Santo Marron - oh my, it is tasty stuff. Someone mentioned it a couple of weeks ago, so I thought I'd give it a shot.
Belgian IPA, Kölsch and Robust Porter off the tap. Its gonna be a long night of short memories.
the last of my bells winter white.
Sold out everywhere around here.
I live ten minutes from the brewery. Ill pick you up some. Hold on.
Perfect. I'll see you in a bit.
...ahhh. Tastes so good after long day.
...I am almost at 100 MGo Points...going to have to keep drinking tonight!
heavy drinking will enhance your posting skills.
Onto Black Marlin Porter...delicious.
You buy this in michigan?
Epic Brewing if Salt Lake. Double Skulls a doppelbock. A little sweet, but 9%.
Entertain you? Oh I got a story for you.
My fiance and I live in an apartment complex and her best friend lives in the next building. They are avid watchers of the series Psych. Psych is doing a 6 hour "sleepover" marathon thing.
Once I saw it advertised I jokingly said, "Great, you will invite your friend, have a sleepover, and I'll be stuck cooking." Holy crap why did I ever open my mouth.
We are setting up an air mattress for the two of them to sleep on and watch the marathon. I will be making blueberry pancakes and sausage when the marathon is over at 6 am Central time. During the marathon there is chips and salsa, fruit smoothies, and I will be making Fries Quatro Queso Dos Frios.
For those who don't know, it is a hollowed out potatoe, stuffed with 4 different cheeses, fried, battered, then refried. (If you are curious, you are supposed to use two toothpics to keep the top of the potatoe sealed on for when it is stuffed and then fried). This is also the first time I will be making them.
I am currently drinking just regular shiner bock and do not think I bought enough beer.
I love Psych. I'm going through the series on Netflix now and just watched the episode with the Friest Quatro Queso Dos Frios yesterday.
I'm supremely jealous.
It's a good series and I appreciate their unique comedic style. Fast and constant with lots of inside jokes. 6 hours is a bit much for me for a comedy series, but I'll probably enjoy myself anyway.
I need better entertainment.
Tonight it is Three Philosophers and an Abbey Ale from Ommegang. Good night folks.
