OT - douchey MgoBlog users

Submitted by white_pony_rocks on
Let me start off by saying I know what I am getting myself into here, but it has to be said, even if it is to only get my frustrations off my chest. I am sick of the douche bags on this site. And I think it is safe to assume they are michigan students. I love this university, My aunt and uncle have season tickets and I have been going since I was 12. I always wanted to go to school here, but it's expensive and my grades weren't good enough in high school. But after living here and going to eastern, I have come to realize that the students that go here are over-privileged, whiny rich kids who don't know jack shit about the real world. It has been showing up more and more on this site, and for the longest time I tolerated people whining about posts not having the right title so they had to take 5 seconds to click on it and realize they didn't want to read it. Were so sorry we inconvenienced you, since you go to U of M you must be right and have everything your way. In fact, I'm sure that some people are going to bitch about me having to long of a post in the forum and I should have put this under diaries. Well guess what, piss off. I just witnessed a forum where people were complaining about the spelling. This blew my mind. Get a life people. Don't you realize people think you're douche bags? Well, it's because you are. Wow, so you go to Michigan, so you can spell, good for you. You think your shit don't stink. But if you were "all that" you would be going to Harvard, Wharton, or MIT., there are plenty of people smarter out there than you. So shut the hell up and post about sports or responses to OT topics, not how well you can spell, that's what first grade spelling bee's are for, or to complain about a topics title, nobody has dial-up anymore, I can click on every link on this site in under 5 min, deal with it p.s. Also, for all you michigan students who think getting hit by a car won't hurt, the world does not revolve around you. I will stop for you if you are using a designated cross walk. but if you are crossing state street and are coming out from behind a car at a random spot, either be prepared to be hit or yelled at, and if you yell back, be prepared to have something thrown at you. p.s.s. Do you think that talking about how jake long got drafted first overall will help RR get S. Henderson when he talks to him? I have always wondered if that was considered tacky to do?

....denigrate the posters, threaten students with vehicular homicide, then ask a "serious" question about recruiting Seantrel Henderson. I may just print this one out. +30 my friend. And since you're asking for it....."spelling bee's" don't possess anything in your sentence, so the apostrophe is unnecessary there.

Telling kids where players from your team were drafted isn't tacky. All these kids, and mainly the top ranked, want to know that they will be prepared to make it to the next level. If you've never sent anyone to the pro's, how else will you show them? I don't think it will help as much in this case, because there will be plenty of people reminding Seantrel that Rich Rodriguez wasn't here when that happened. In general though, yes it's a good idea.

This is one of many reasons why I follow Tom's every word (yeah sounds creepy but admit it you have a man crush on him too.) This massive rant and Tom ends up simply ignoring the stupidity of the majority of the OP and answering the question. +1 sir, +1. (not that you need my approval.)

all seriousness aside, I think it is fantastic that you slipped a little Michigan football related bit at the very end of your piece. People do need to learn how to cross the street, though.

Why? For the record I don't go to UM and spelling is helpful to understanding a topic, if it isn't blatantly off we don't care. As for assaults on the "whiny rich kids"... frankly don't insult our character, besides most of our comments are sarcastically intended.

Jake Long did not play for Rich Rod. He played under Lloyd Carr in a pro style offense. These recruits know that are smart enough to realize that. Rich Rod will have to convince the kid that his offensive system can still prepare an elite O lineman for the NFL.

it's called the michigan difference, err, i mean the michigan arrogance. we are an arrogant bunch and that is likely to never change. we have that b/c we're better than you (please pick up on that).

Most people here didn't or don't go to Michigan. You also sound bitter that you just weren't smart enough to get into Michigan.

not at all, it was my own fault i couldn't get in. So i figured that going to eastern and living in ann arbor is the next best thing. but after living here for a while, i'm glad I don't go here. you know, arrogance isn't a virtue. i've lived in a few college towns, while this is on par with gainesville, FL for stuff to do, the majority of the people suck way worse here.

You're glad that you don't go to UM. You think the students that go here are over-privileged, whiny rich kids who don't know jack shit about the real world. The majority of people suck way worse than, say, Gainesville. Yet you love UM? What is that, you love the buildings, but hate the people? ...for the longest time I tolerated people whining about posts not having the right title so they had to take 5 seconds to click on it and realize they didn't want to read it. Were so sorry we inconvenienced you...I just witnessed a forum where people were complaining about the spelling. This blew my mind. Get a life people. Let me get this, you are pissed that you had to witness a forum of those complaining about spelling, and you "tolerate" those who "whine" about being inconvenienced by poor topic titles? Why don't you just ignore the spelling/grammar posts like we are supposed to ignore posts with bad topic titles? You clearly have a lot of issues with both the University, its student body and alumni, and many people posting on this blog. It sounds like this blog makes you absolutely miserable. Why are you here, then?

this post is fucking epic. the seething bitterness over not being a M student, the misdirected rage at others because he doesn't know how to spell, the threats to hit people with a car that will never be followed up on, the insinuation people who have a better life than you must not know what "real" life, urging others to "Get a life" when you are writing a psychotic manifesto about people with the audacity to use proper grammar - beautiful. And then topped off with a completely unrelated, bizarre, aside asking about sentreal henderson and jake long. I give it 5 stars.

I have come to realize that the students that go here are over-privileged, whiny rich kids who don't know jack shit about the real world. You're totally ignoring the large contingent of smart Asians that don't know jack shit about the real world.

I have come to realize that the students that go [to the University of Michigan] are over-privileged, whiny rich kids who don't know jack shit about the real world. This is a fair characterization of plenty of the students at UM. Myself included (although in the interest of full disclosure, I'm an alum, not a current student). That's why we're so frickin' awesome.

"I have come to realize that the students that go here are over-privileged, whiny rich kids who don't know jack shit about the real world." Its true, I don't know jack shit about the real world. I haven't really followed that show since the Vegas season. How can you top that hot tub threesome?

In all seriousness, this board prides itself on being different from the common internet sports forum. Proper grammar, spelling, and restraint regarding the USE OF CAPS LOCK all help to make this board less annoying to read than many others. That being said, it can get annoying when every post is scrutinized. You'll find that when posts are worthwhile, the benefit of the doubt is given. When a post is lacking in the worth department, poor writing only serves as verification of the poster's cloudy thought process (this is generally true in all communication in life). This board is what it is because of the accountability present here. If you're looking for a place to air random grievances, repeat overplayed media themes, or just toss an amateur opinion into the maize and blue yonder this is not the place for you. Fortunately, there are plenty of places where this is common.

I did not, do not, nor will I ever be a student at the University of Michigan. However, awful spelling and grammar annoy me. Writing somewhere above a third-grade level makes things a hell of a lot easier to read. Kinda shoots holes in your OP, doesn't it?

I just graduated UM this spring, so I'm pretty close as far as current students go. "I have come to realize that the students that go here are over-privileged, whiny rich kids who don't know jack shit about the real world." Sure, let's talk real world. My mom's a recovering heroin addict that was clean for a dozen years, and just relapsed. I remember watching her snort from the tender age of six. My freshman year at UM, she was operated on to remove a malignant tumor from her mouth, and underwent radiation treatments that have destroyed her ability to hear out of her right ear and the ability to produce saliva. She's fought cancer four times, and is now fighting a fifth time. That same year (my freshman year), her boyfriend relapsed and died of a heroin overdose. I grew up on Detroit's west side and have been poverty-stricken for most of my life. I saw my next door neighbour get stabbed 17 times on my front lawn. I was six. Rich? Real world? I can probably teach a lecture on the real world at this point. In closing, fuck you, and fuck the horse you rode in on. Piss off, prat. You don't know a damn thing about 99% of the people that have attended a fine University, and you couldn't be more wrong about a majority of us.

i can only comment on the people I have had the privilege of meeting here, and those people are exactly what I said they are. Sorry you have had a hard life, but if you are as smart as the rest of the student population thinks they are, you should realize you are the minority at this school.
