OT: Does Stubhub mobile ticketing work at Michigan Stadium?
My season tickets are in the corner, Section 19. I decided this morning I want to sit on the sideline tomorrow. I sold my tickets on Stubhub (in about 12 minutes, dammit, should have priced them higher). The plan is to try the scalpers in front of Crisler. But if push comes to shove, I will buy two on the Stubhub app right before I go into the stadium. Anyone have experience with this? Will that work to buy "Instant Download" tickets on the app when I'm right outside the gate, and have the barcode scanned off my phone as I enter? Apologize if these are stupid questions. I'm an old man and not wise to the ways of the interwebs.

Found the two tickets in Section 3 that I wanted to buy this morning, price was right, and then at checkout there were $50+ in fees.

Yes, it's a nasty surprise. My "$150" Wisconsin ticket wound up costing over $200.

Yes, it does. Thankfully. Two years ago I went to a game, and printed the tickets in the hotel. Well the hotel printer was low on ink - they didn't scan when I got to the stadium. Luckily, I had it pulled up on my phone. Got in no problem.

And when push comes to shove, a ticket office can sometimes release the stubhub tickets if you... oh, I don't know... completely forgot them at home like a dummy and your brother looks at you like "for real?!?".

Good to know if I fight with the scalpers near the tracks at 3:15pm. If I use stubhub in advance, I'll just print them because I know it works. And when the ushers play the "let me check all the tickets in this row" game, I can show them the paperwork rather than dicker with my phone.

I wouldn't buy from a scalper at 2x the price. Unless Ohio State and even then I'm probably waiting until after kickoff.
With scalpers, you have to wait until they have more inventory than time. Sometimes that depends on your comfort level.

Just called the ticket office to ask this very question. They confirmed that, yes, you can use your mobile.

Just a heads up, for Tigers games Stubhub stops sales about an hour before the game. Not sure if its the same thing for Michigan games, but something to keep in mind.

I spoke with a StubHub rep last week about something similar. I was looking at Reds tickets, and then the posting would disappear before the game started. The rep said they have agreements with some teams and have to pull tickets before the game starts. I think it's 2 hours prior to first pitch for the Reds, and up to 6 hours for other teams.
I asked if Michigan tickets were subject to a similar agreement, and she said Michigan tickets will be available right up until game time, as they have been in the past.
As for using the StubHub app at Michigan Stadium, I haven't done so yet. I'm a Verizon customer, and my service usually stinks within a mile of the stadium on game day.

I just talked to a rep in the chat and she said tickets are only available up until 2 hours before game time for all Michigan home games this year.

I just chatted with them again: This time, the guy also said Michigan tickets will be available until game time. He said the only two college football teams who don't sell up until game time are the "Hurricanes and Panthers."
Just passing along what I'm told.

Yeah, I just called and talked to another rep and they said that tickets will be sold up until game time. Hopefully that's the case and the first rep was wrong.

A bit of a tangent, but props to the employees at the ticket office. They have been very helpful in helping me solve some issues (reprinting/reassigning tickets, etc).

That team is clearly well trained and well recruited too.
I had a buggy Group Ticket online purchase this year that inadvertently double withdrew for 11 seats without going through...so the ticket office had no record of my purchase but my credit union took the money out twice. The ticket office called the credit union, set up a conference call, faxed over a letter to the credit union that they had not had the transaction go through and the money was returned to my account within a couple of hours. All I had to do was send an email, talk on the phone for a few minutes and they did the rest.
Great people, great recruiting, great training. The Michigan Difference.

Be careful depending on StubHub for last minute tickets.
Tickets on Stubhub stop selling at the game start time!
(confirmed with StubHub rep, this applies to all home games this year)
Sharing this info specifically because it has screwed me over several times trying to get last minute tickets for various events. I'm looking waiting for prices to go down to their minimum, hundred of tickets left, and all of a sudden nothing.
EDIT: First rep in chat said they stop selling 2 hours before the game start time. But I just talked to another rep on the phone and they said tickets stop selling at the game start time. Not sure which one to believe. NightTrain5 in this thread says he confirmed with StubHub that they stop selling at game time, so we'll go with that for now. Practice caution, because once that time hits, all the tickets dissapear from stubhub.

Redundant, but last year I ran into an issue with printing tickets and after going all the way to a fedex to print which didn't work out, and then going to will-call to pick up my tickets, the front desk reaffirmed that the Big House is full mobile accessible now for tickets. Could've saved myself an hour and half of additional tailgating had I known. Ah well. Good luck, and Go Blue!

Since you're presently without tix and you're looking for something specific, buy 'em now. Connectivity issues can be real at the Big House. Last thing you want is to be fighting that in the hour before game time.

I have heard rumors of people having issues getting in with scalped tickets because they were already sold on stubhub and someone else used the bar code to get in, is this true? Or even possible?

This is absolutely a possibility. Here's how it works: When you sell a ticket on StubHub, the seller enters in the barcode number and they regenerate a PDF ticket that invalidates the original ticket. Thus, if you purchase a hard ticket (or even e-ticket) from someone you don't trust, you are running that risk.
Hard tickets don't mean something like they used to in the past. I have Red Wings season tickets and can print off as many copies of my season tickets as I want in PDF format. They even let you invalidate other PDF copies you previously printed. Long story short: beware of the people you purchase from.
