OT-Division 1-AA playoffs on ESPN2 (with a bright red field of course)

I think there's a reason the NCAA banned schools from doing this anymore.  What an eyesore.  Pretty good game though.

I just hope Villanova gets clobbered! I have a couple of high school friends that go to 'nova and I can just hear the "our football team is better than yours" claims. I heard those last year when they won the FBS tournament..

Yes, except our team, if playing Villanova in a postseason game, i.e., a bowl game, would likely pound them 45-17. I know, I know. the 17 part...But, point being, when your 'Nova friends talk trash, just know that, seriously, we would liquidate them, Matrix-style, in a game where both squads were healthy, prepared, and giving it everything.

Crap; I just read that and realized how far we've fallen.

I guess it's just a lot of wishful thinking.  It hurts my eyes to try and watch it on TV.  The color reflects the lights too much.  Field shots are OK, but nobody wants to watch an entire game of field shots.

There may not be a ban, but there should.  It probably won't happen until someone who is on TV a lot gets a color that is a little too bright for good TV.  Once ABC or ESPN complains, I would imagine that bright colors will become illegal with those who already have it "grandfathered."  nother easy way would be for the networks to just tell a team even considering a brightly-colored field that it won't be televising any games from that field.

Either way, the field is terrible.  I turned the game off.

I don't know why, but I like the field.  Maybe you guys aren't watching in HD? It looks pretty crystal clear from where I'm sitting. Maybe the alcohol is taking effect, but I'm really enjoying this game. I think I'm jealous that they actually have a legit playoff system.  3 mins to go and E Wash is only up by 3...

ESPN was able to slighty filter out the sounds of the sounds of the vuvuzela's at the WC, so would they be able to help us out a little with that gleeming red?? Maybe throw a little filter over their lens or something. Damn that's awful....

Is the Athletic Director or another person in charge responsible for the odd colored fields?

Doesn't one team have the away team's locker room painted pink?  I think that's neat but don't really like watching these blue and red fields.  They seem to say look we're minor league.  How soon before a team takes it too far?  Will there be a neon yellow nike field at Oregon?

I think the next logical step will be some school coming up with a blue screen-type field, so that people watching at home can see monsters, or say, giant wolverines interacting with the players.

As ugly as the field is, at least Eastern Washington wears black uniforms. I can't stand watching Boise wearing the same shade of blue as their field. If you're going to have a gimmick field it should be illegal to camouflage your players with matching colors.
