OT: did Grayson Allen have another trip attempt?

Submitted by We are back on
In not Najee Harris news: last night Grayson Allen was back in the news again for another controversial leg move, ACC has stated it wasn't clear if it was intentionally or not. This started a huge debate at our Lions watch party last night, so I'm asking the board how did it look to you? https://www.google.com/amp/www.foxsports.com/college-basketball/story/g…

Yes, indeed. Allen's behavior is making me nostalgic for the old days when Duke played above its collective ability partly by flopping, pushing the boundaries of the referees, etc. (In recent years they've been doing well on pure talent.)

Allen is a very appropriate extension of his two-faced coach.

The next time an errant kick happens, he needs an errant elbow going after a rebound to somehow magically meet with whatever part of his face is convenient.  Since the system is failing to protect players, fighting fire with fire is the only remedy left.  This kid is a menace and doesn't belong on a basketball court.

Watch entire game. Watch 10 entire games and tell me how many times you see a player thrust his leg backwards in the air like that.

Same as Draymon. They both use their legs in a way nobody else on the court EVER does and then they cry when called out on it. I don't know if he was trying to trip or kick the other player but to say they hit their feet "tangled up" and that caused him to fire his leg backwards at a 45 degree angle is Coach K level apologists.

A tripping attempt, no. An aggressive and unnecessary leg flail, yes. This dude is just a dirty and thuggish player. Even if it wasn't on purpose it absolutely was brought on by himself and I don't feel bad for him.

People are too PC. Everyone knows striking a woman is wrong. But that doesn't mean jokes about it can't be funny.

I feel like half the MGoBoard would have a panic attack if they saw an Anthony Jeselnik standup routine.

It's a friggin joke people, not staunch support for the physical abuse of women.

To have shoved his face to the floor right then. He'll keep his antics up until someone let's him know they won't put up with it, or the refs call him on every little thing.

It looked clumsy. He and the BC player got their legs locked and it looks like Allen lost his balance. Looks like no incident and would be ignored if it weren't for the earlier tripping incident.

looked like he was trying to kick the BC player setting the pick. Glad to see Grayson learned so much during his indefinite suspension. It seems he thinks he can just get away with anything. Probably going to take an actual long suspension or someone laying him out on the court for it to ever get through to him

Just a kid and already whenever anyone mentions his name most observers first thought is what a piece of shit. Good job Mr. Allen, youve irreparably destroyed your reputation before youve even entered the adult world.

at this point on his career, he doesn't get the benefit of "what does this look like to you?" it's just assumed it's dirty even though it's not, which sucks for him but that's how it is now.

so I would still give him the benefit of the doubt. While he's responsible for harming his reputation, it's not fair to declare him guilty every single time something questionable happens.
