OT - Detroit Tigers on pace to go 162-0

Submitted by snarling wolverine on

Burning questions:

Are they the greatest team of all-time or just the greatest of the past 100 years?

Is Miguel Cabrera actually a long-lost relative of Harbaugh?

Has Harbaugh been seen doing any 3rd-base coaching in the D?

Can the bullpen actually hold it together?

Bullpen is so putrid. The offense has been unreal though. Hopefully the bullpen can play average and the O and D continue to be better than years past. Cespedes as the 6 hitter lol. That offense is scary if it remains healthy.

It's not "putrid." We have Alburquerque who doesn't get enough credit, Blaine Hardy was really good in situations last year, Joakim Soria is always pretty good, Ian Krol is still young and despite struggling, still had a decent year last year, we will get Rondon back, and Jose Valdez will be up sometime this year.

someone predicted that the Tigers will win 75 games because spring training.

Tigers have owned the AL Central and have for years. There are AL Central teams have success elsewhere but when they play the Tigers, they get owned. As long as the Tigers keep winning division games, I'm not worried.

If they go 162-0 I'll eat my own head. Literally. I'll post a live video to this blog and find a way to eat my own head.

Part of me hopes now that they go 161-1 just to screw with you.

As obviously unlikely as it would be (as in, "holy shit" unlikely, unbelievably minute odds, etc...), I am locking this one in just in case we are faced with a thread in September which may or may not test the limits of what is allowable in the way of making good on a bet. I would assume a few Tigers fans might feel the same way, of course.

It's great that the tigers are competing year in and year out. It wasn't that long ago that the tigers would start the season on pace for 0-162. Thank god that's over with.

Small sample size, but it appears the talk of the downfall of the Tigers was a tad overblown yes?

That lineup is utterly ridiculous, especially if they can squeeze all the talent out of Gose, Iglesias, and Avila.
