OT - DET OAK Game 4
Didn't see a thread up yet.
Tigers down 1-0 in the first.

Start
October 8th, 2013 at 5:28 PM ^
1-12 with 8 k's for Jackson, just horrific for a leadoff hitter.
October 8th, 2013 at 5:28 PM ^
Lloyd McClendon should be fired. They look absolutely lost when up to bat. He just does too little with too fucking much talent
October 8th, 2013 at 11:22 PM ^
I mean all he did was coach the offense to the second most runs in the AL over 162 games. But we'll take this 4 game sample and judge him on that.
Just playing devil's advocate.
October 8th, 2013 at 5:28 PM ^
Oh man
October 8th, 2013 at 5:31 PM ^
Austin Jackson is not good. They have to find a leadoff hitter for next year. This guy doesn't have what it takes.
October 8th, 2013 at 5:32 PM ^
He did hit .300 last year, it's just a matter of what Jackson is going to show up 2011 or 2012?
October 8th, 2013 at 5:34 PM ^
And he is 26. He may not be a leadoff hitter, but you don't give up on such a guy.
October 8th, 2013 at 5:37 PM ^
I personally think he's a bit overrated as an outfielder. Still a very good fielder, but not gold glove level. He's afraid to dive for a ball, and does make more mistakes than people think. Don't get me wrong, he's probably worth keeping as the starting centerfielder, but he doesn't do what a leadoff hitter should do. He strikes out too much, doesn't walk, and doesn't steal bases.
October 8th, 2013 at 5:42 PM ^
have been a contender for the past three seasons. I think you are overreacting to the bitter disappointment that is the 2013 playoffs.
October 8th, 2013 at 5:45 PM ^
Jackson won the fielding bible award in 2011 which is much better metric defensively than the gold glove awards are. He's not a great leadoff hitter but he's certainly a tremendous outfielder, he doesn't dive because he usually doesn't have to.

Is too good to give up on.
October 8th, 2013 at 5:33 PM ^
fister's got nothing. everything is up. get him out of there before the game is over.
October 8th, 2013 at 5:35 PM ^
Verlander too
October 8th, 2013 at 5:33 PM ^
If we see Sherzer early we are in trouble.
October 8th, 2013 at 5:33 PM ^
Fister is off today.
October 8th, 2013 at 5:36 PM ^
The Tigers have played poorly for a month. This team has been on fumes for awhile now. This was predictable.
October 8th, 2013 at 5:43 PM ^
Something can be unsurprising and upsetting at the same time.
October 8th, 2013 at 5:37 PM ^
now!!!
October 8th, 2013 at 5:38 PM ^
might end it now with one swing of the bat.
October 8th, 2013 at 5:38 PM ^
Seems like I'm watching a funeral
October 8th, 2013 at 5:39 PM ^
Get someone up. Fister is going to be at 50 pitches
October 8th, 2013 at 5:40 PM ^
with 3-4 runs than his pitch count
October 8th, 2013 at 5:46 PM ^
Either way they'll need someone else by the 4th inning
October 8th, 2013 at 5:41 PM ^
That could have been worse but damn
October 8th, 2013 at 5:41 PM ^
5 feet from being the end of the season. i hope scherzer comes out to start the 3rd.
October 8th, 2013 at 5:43 PM ^
Coco almost had that one.
October 8th, 2013 at 5:45 PM ^
Leaning into that pitch is probably Prince's best play of his entire postseason career
October 8th, 2013 at 5:49 PM ^
Damn this team has some garbage swings.
October 8th, 2013 at 5:52 PM ^
Can anyone find a link to stream the game? Meetings and class are impacting my ability to watch the game from the comfort of my couch.
October 8th, 2013 at 6:02 PM ^
It's free on tbs.com. (At least, it is for me on Comcast. I'm not sure if it varies by ISP.)
October 8th, 2013 at 5:59 PM ^
Why Leyland should NOT be fired?
October 8th, 2013 at 6:01 PM ^
The best out of a potent lineup. Obviously the players are a lot to blame, but at some point it is on the manager. What has he himself actually done in order for people to think he is so good?
October 8th, 2013 at 6:03 PM ^
Respond to your own comment huh? You do know the tigers have a hitting coach, right? Whose job it is to coach hitters?
October 8th, 2013 at 6:11 PM ^
Is that not allowed to add to your own thoughts? Quit being a sorry ass hole. Yes, but at this point you can't blame the hitting coach for everyone doing bad. You're telling me everyone on the team is having such bad issues with their hitting that they all need the hitting coach to "fix" them? No, it's clearly a lack of energy and focus.
October 8th, 2013 at 6:15 PM ^
That's down right idiotic. The whole team is hitting terribly, and in a true stroke of genius, you decide that it has to be someone other than the guy who's responsible for the hitting performance. You can respond all you want, but you're clearly a moron so I'm not going to bother with it
October 8th, 2013 at 6:20 PM ^
He's banned on the main site, just ignore him and his lawn.
October 8th, 2013 at 6:39 PM ^
You don't agree with me, so just ignore me.
October 8th, 2013 at 6:21 PM ^
Leyland is also responsible for their record setting pitching. Sweet move leaving that out of your rant.
October 8th, 2013 at 9:35 PM ^
Better?
October 8th, 2013 at 6:00 PM ^
Who's gone off the roster next year?
October 8th, 2013 at 6:02 PM ^
Peralta's gone. He obviously can't play outfield and Iglesias is here to stay I'm guessing
October 8th, 2013 at 6:08 PM ^
So it will be basically the same roster next year?
October 8th, 2013 at 6:13 PM ^
peralta; possibly scherzer (need to sign); benoit (doubt they sign); dirks or kelly; santiago; infante (need to sign); possibly avila if mgt is tired of him
October 8th, 2013 at 6:20 PM ^
I'd like to see them keep Infante. Santiago can field pretty good but is pretty useless as a hitter.
I hope they can do something with Scherzer, I'd hate to see him go, but I think he'll be getting some pretty high ball offers.
October 8th, 2013 at 6:03 PM ^
Jackson needs to go. Way too streaky, and a good reliable leadoff hitter is vital.
October 8th, 2013 at 6:03 PM ^
What an exciting inning.Holy Cow!
October 8th, 2013 at 6:04 PM ^
Having Brayan Pena play for Avila? The third baseman is practically on second base and what does he do? Grounds weakly into the shift.
