"He's a hard worker, and he watched me and Tim (Hardaway Jr.) and Nik (Stauksas) put work in to become (first-round picks), and I'm just happy he's getting better," Burke said. "It's great for the program, too. It shows what type of program the University of Michigan is and the direction it continues to go in."
OT: Derek Kief Picks Alabama
rejected him due to his use of "adieu" in place of "ado". They do have their standards, right?
Long hair, don't care.
Elle oh Elle
suck it, urban
I could be VERY wrong and just imagining things, but early in the process (6 months ago maybe) weren't we one of his favorites?
We showed some interest early on, but an offer never came.
Michigan probably would have been in the mix if the coaches offered, but they never did.
According to 247, there was nominal interest from Michigan but no recorded offer to Kief, although it does list Mark Smith as having recruited him. The offers themselves (aside from the winner - Alabama) were from Arkansas, Boston College, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Connecticuit, Illinois, Indiana, Kent State, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio (MAC Version), Ohio State, Toledo, UCF, Vanderbilt, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
He seems to be a lot like Drake Harris. Maybe the coaches thought there was more of a need at other positions, especially given the limited amount of space in this class.
Didn't seem to have the speed that Harris has. Reminds me of a more polished Mo Ways.
Would guess that with Harris and Ways, someone like Kief wouldn't necessarily be a need with our limited schollys.
PS I like schadenfreude as much as the next guy, but the 11w guys/gals were pretty levelheaded about Kief.
Yeah, Kief is a tall possession receiver. Harris is definitely more explosive.
I'd agree with that. Kiefs highlight film is ridiculous though.
I wouldn't define it as "ridiculous." He has good hands and catches the ball well in traffic. But as an athlete (speed, leaping ability, change of direction, etc.), I just don't find him that appealing.
sad to say, but if a recruit is good enough for alabama, I'm sure he would have been good enough for any school in ohio.
maybe urban didn't cry in front of him and his coach enough to persuade him to go buckeye.
Another pretty girl turned Ohio down for prom.
They even got turned down by the hand. It's going to be a long night for them.
not attending a Big Ten school. Carry on
I've got the same Polo. Yeah I know...not a cool story bro
So do I. It's one my favorites. I should probably diversify my wardrobe a bit. I wear too many RL Polos. I think I have like 10+.
It was all good just a week ago.
Seven days can change.
A stand-up homey now you sit down to aim.
I will LOL if osu also blows it with raekwon mcmillan (currently revisiting the gators)
I think osu will have a much more average class than their fan base is expecting.
Here2CWoodson you're crazy. Urban Meyer is the best closer in the business and don't you forget that!!!! He can get whoever he wants and will flip everyone of these kids by NSD. Did I forget to tell you how far away NSD is? It's like three years from now and that's forever and that doesn't even matter because like I said. URBAN MEYER IS THE BEST CLOSER AND GREATEST RECRUITER EVARRRRR!!!!! /buckeye'd
Ha best part of this is the reference to the"NSD is a loooong way away"... They will say that until February 4th. And on the 5th, Urban will close on ALL the 5 stars!!!
Big deal that the #2 player committed to scUM in may!!! Urban is a closer and that doesn't matter. Meatchicken gets early commits while Urban waits for the real great players because he has the best eye for talent and then closes. The #2 player in the country usually is lucky to end up in the top 100 by NSD. I'll trust Urban because he's the bestest greatest awesomestest at everything. /buckeye'd
Like ohhhh my god he is sooo awsome i cant wait to lick his nipple... O..M..G he is thooo hot...yaaay Urban Meijers..oh wait is that how u say his name..
Urban is a quitter only thing he going to close on is his mouth
Typical classless uneducated Ohio response. Go away.
I think a lot of people are missing the sarcasm here...
Heh. Yea, I thought I laid it on pretty thick.
Damn you. Got me...
The sarcasm was so thick, I had to squeegee my touch screen to get it working again.
It's never enough on this board. And we're supposed to have the smart fans.
Who the heck are u fuck Urban Cryier
Dude, it was a joke. Can you not see the obvious sarcasm?
Apparently Alabama also recently offered Damon Webb. Hope he at least visits so we can enjoy an Ohio meltdown.
Urb: What are my chances?
Kief: Not good.
Urb: You mean not good like....... one out of a hundred?
Kief: I'd say more like one out of a million.
Urb: (pause) So you're telling me there's a chance....... YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!
Like not even in the morning?
My observation is that Ohio is experiencing the same thing Michigan suffered through during the Rich Rod debacle. Most top level offensive recruits don't want to play in a spread scheme. Hoping they have as much luck as we did with it in the B1G.
It kind of makes sense in terms of results, but how do we explain that Meyer had no problem getting talent at Florida? Also, wouldn't people just want to go where they can be successful/get to the next level? Or are we positing that the lack of success of Meyer's guys in the NFL is finally catching up to him?
Florida is loaded with talent to begin with, so convincing local kids to stay home isn't that hard. The one thing that was odd to me was the fact that after Tebow graduated, Urban tried to run a spread offense with Brantley who was a pro-style passer.
Because Florida had Mattison at the time.
guys, come in. what in the hell are we talking about? OSU is stacked with high level offensive recruits last year. that dude ezekiel elliott is going to guve us nightmares. i mean, i hope your post was sarcasm.
Ohio fans like to think that "Urbz" just decided not to pursue this kid anymore. They can never admit that they simply lost a recruiting battle.
