Searched for stuff about him and it came up on some people's twitter. Anyone have any further info on this?
to play football, not to play trumpet
Three recruits that I hope the best for but hope to never discuss again are and in no particular order Dorsey, Dee Hart, and Ha Ha. Anybody else?
Nevermind...I just saw the part where you said, "hope the best for", I hope Pryor get "killed"...Sorry.
I was just being polite. I don't really mean it.
well you will have a year off before we start talking about them, and hopefully they don't have an impact in our game next year against Bama
except damn Brent Musburger makes it difficult for us to forget him.
edit: honorable mention, Jim Harbaugh
Rojo, Sean Parker, Pearlie Graves.
I agree about Dee Hart and Ha Ha but not so much about Dorsey. His situation had a lot more to do with how he was raised tbh and I can't blame him(100%) for that.
I heard he came from a household with both parents in it and they both had decent jobs. That doesn't sound too bad to me so am I missing something?
and you peers can have as much influence, if not more, than your parents.
O LETH DO ITT
i still remember watchin that "No Fly Zone" video, man I wanted to see him in the maize n blue
Has Demar been taking elocution lessons from Lou Holtz?
i'm loving #47 in the background, clearly doesn't have Demar's swagger, but he gets an A for effort.
Haha you are so right, I have never noticed that before. I really wish Demar could have came to Michigan :(
Is no other then Dominique Easley I believe...I would of liked to see both of them in maize an blue!
I don't see his name on the roster, but that might not mean anything.
This was just reported a few hours ago, so I doubt they would update that quickly.
If you're not with us, then you must be against us. Screw D.D. & Dee. Go Blue!
Demar Dorsey wanted to play for Michigan, he just couldn't get pass admissions. There is a big difference there.
One person buying a ticket to Bolivia while the other tries to scrape together enough Mgopoints to come back to Mgonation.
If this is a reference to "neg me to bolivian," I love you. If not, I'm going to keep thinking it is because otherwise, wat.
Yes it is a refrence to "neg me to bolivian"
too loyal for my own good sometimes.
The "fierce loyalty" defense doesn't work when you're insulting a kid who tried to come here, but was turned away.
Should have gone with the Chewbacca defense.
Is a Wookie from the planet endor. Therefore, you must aquit.
There's Fierce Loyalty then there's Insane in the membrane and you my sir are the latter!
I agree If your not with us your against us, but next let the train stop there.
Perhaps he still wants to play for Michigan. GRCC is one of the few junior colleges whose college credits transfer without problem to U of M.
if he wanted to come to UM, that would be a difficult climb, but not impossible. He would have to take a very similar path/courseload as he would at Michigan towards a degree. There are many 4 year schools that he could get a degree at regardless.
This is great news for DD. I look forward to following his career. With his talent - he could very well make it to the league if he stays focused.
maybe he is trying to get into grand valley state... they seem to put a couple of guys into the nfl every couple years.
I'd like to know more about GVSU's athletic program. I've had people (sports nuts) from elsewhere in the country ask me about them, because they've noticed how often their name comes in it tournaments and playoffs for a variety of sports.
pretty sure he is going to fsu
You're going to fsu.
FERRIS STATE, BITCHES*
*as a GV alum I do not actually mean this
^ this ^
What happened to Carlisle? I thought he was committing to ND this weekend?
it was 80-20 in favor of USC, he wanted to take an unofficial with his parents to USC this past weekend to get their impressions, which turned out to be more like get their approval. It wasn't all that surprising from friday on, a week ago it would have been though. Kelly had the last visit with him before he announced so I was hopeful/confident but it wasn't meant to be. He also wants to be an actor which I wasn't aware of till after he announced
But Its why this time of the year is so much fun.
EDIT: And it looks like ND just flipped hounshell from florida, more of that fun.....
Your Mom goes to FSU!
I'm sorry that was inappropriate I'll neg myself
DD wants to go to Ferris State?
His facebook status said he was in Michigan today. Yes, I am facebook friends with Demar Dorsey. Yes, his facebook name is Twoheadedkings Zionandmiracle Dorsey.
Yes, Demar Dorseys dreads are no more. :(
That would be crazy awesome if Demar came to GRCC. He and Conway would make an already very good team that much better.
Of course with a lot of this stuff, I'll believe it when I see him on campus hangin' in Bostwick Commons. Which would be really cool.
I actually the chance to see him crossing the street. Like a crazy stalker person I yelled out his name from my car and he wondered over to my vehicle trying to firgure out if he knew me. Once he got to my car he said hello and gave me a "wad up high five" then traffice started to beep. So yes he was on GRCC's campus today.
He wondered over to your car?
The kid always did look confused
Annesse is accumulating some talent.
Yeah he is, he was my high school coach. Definitely one of the best out there.
Kind of reminds me of Saban - from a looks and coaching ability standpoint.
One of my former players played for coach Annesse at GRCC the last two years. He said that the man's greatest talent was being able to "collect a group of low-lifes and scum bags and getting them to buy in and play like a team".
Because of this I am declaring that coach Annesse will be the head coach of tOSU in 5 years. Book It.
He is definitely going to go there for a year, get an acceptable gpa and then transferring to Michigan under the new coaching staff.
So you saying there's a chance!
This made me laugh so hard that I went back and negged bkfinest and +1'd DGDestroys
Edit: and I +1'd you too for the laugh
i swear to god i will pull this out every time somebody says to book "it".
i thought DD was at LVILLE
You sir, are a little behind
Best of luck to him. I felt sorry for the guy.
I'm hoping this is sarcasm. The kid had full ride offers to Florida, Florida State, USC, and MEEECHIIIGANNN and you feel sorry for him?
The things I would do to have my degree paid in full, you don't even understand.
You do realize he got bullied and cheated out of that free education...right?
That's rich. Sure I feel sorry for him that things didn't work out, but those abysmal scores were no ones fault but his own.
Oh yeah and it had nothing to do with his up bringing. This is more his parents fault than his, how can you blame him 100% for all of this?
He knew what it would take to get in to college. He probably just lacked the work ethic. You can't tell me that no one from a similar situation never got into college.
Well his parents turned out the way they did because of the system right? It's not their fault they were born into those circumstances. No one should be held accountable for the way their life turns out.
Part of this is Dorsey's fault.
Part of this is his parents' fault.
Part of this is Michigan's fault.
Part of this is the system and our society's fault.
Other kids have succeeded from Demar's circumstances, so I would have to believe that he could have succeeded also. Ultimately a person probably should not have to place blame on others for how his life has turned out.
The kid pulled his shit together just a bit too late. Now he is taking the prep route to get back what he could have had. There is no shame in coming up short, the shame is in giving up which it appears he has not. His signing, more than anything, sums up the RR tenure. Both the coach and this player had 3 strikes against them before ever setting foot on this campus. At least one of them was a grown man.
Exactly, and his apparent will to persevere is why most of us are still rooting for him, but what I was saying was that he isn't by any means blameless in not getting in the first time.
Sure I agree that his parents may have been ill equipped to help Demar to succeed, but there are many ways to overcome this. And it's not Michigan's fault he couldn't get in there. They have their standards and he didn't meet them. It is, however, their fault that they let him believe he would be in no matter what.
I think that it's much harder to succeed and achieve academically from his set of circumstances than you realize.
I totally agree, I mean look where he grew up. Its not like he was in a situation where he could really thrive in the classroom. He didn't have the same childhood as a lot of our other recruits I guarantee it
come on, we've all seen those feel good movies about a black inner-city youth who realizes all he has to do is work hard to escape the fate bestowed upon him and get out of the projects and into a good university.
although they usually get shot right before they are about to leave
Really do you think EVERYBODY at his school had a 1 point something GPA and a 12 on their ACT, or worse?
actually smart guy he didnt go to a regular high school... Not everyones smart some people are born slow and he deserves the oppurtunity.
I don't think you even understand.
This is the wrong board to be talking about the things you would do for money...
Scout boards were buzzing about this a little earlier. As of now, it does not appear to be any attempt to get into UM
Why would he? We may have forgotten about how the local media vilified this kid when he comitted but I am willing to bet DD has not.
Exactly. It was a question that was on at least a few peoples' minds, however, so I just wanted to get that settled
Maybe... he is set on silencing the critics?
But your saying there's a chance?
if all this is true then i would have to believe he is coming to michigan in 2012 why else would a kid from florida go to a juco in gr michigan... alot of people did bash him but his cousin is still at michigan and loves it
credits are accepted by U of M admissions.
GRCC has a route that you can take that is specifically designed to get you into UofM. I had a friend who took this route, where he spent 2 years at GRCC and then transferred into Engineering. It is actually used quite a bit for kids that didn't get the best ACT score or didn't have the money to go to UofM for 4 years.
but now that they got their derp derp "michigan man" in there maybe if Hoke pushes for him Dorsey gets in?
Does anyone care about what the Detroit media has to say?
that would pretty much blow my mind
Damn, I can walk to GRCC games. Sounds like its time to do that, draped in Michigan gear.
I transferred in after a year at community college. If he is mtivated enough to go study get grades and het a football scholie then that sys a lot about him as a person. That's a harder route than getting in after high school. I wish him the best and hope it works out at michigan. If not here than gvsu or for someone not on our schedule!
people will still be wondering if Dorsey is on his way to UM.
